Costa Rican Agriculture is SO COOL - I was the only one on my 9am tour with Angel and absolutely LOVED it! I work with American farmers & ranchers and this tour was fascinating. I was able to ask Angel questions about production hurdles, sustainability, and economic challenges. I Ubered (pre-booking both) to and from San Jose. It was about an hour away but so worth it!

Costa Rican Coffee! - We took a morning tour of Hacienda Doka - the coffee just seemed to hit different while on a Costa Rican coffee farm/plantation! Super friendly guide, gorgeous property, informative tour and of course, great coffee!!! Definitely worth our time!!!

Great tour to see how coffee is made - Great place to visit. Lunch there is nicely done. Coffee tour is really informative and you get to learn a lot about the whole process. Coffee tasting at the end was really nice too.

Nice tour- Friendly staff - It was an enjoyable tour but there was no sugar cane tour. I would still go again knowing we would not learn about the sugar cane.

Great coffee - This was a great tour for coffee lovers. We almost didn’t do this tour but one of our tour guides told us not to miss it because he saw how much we liked coffee. The tour was quite informative without being too long. They let us try lots of coffee and we ended up buying not only coffee but chocolate they have there.

An authentic and cultural experience 🇨🇷☕️ - The coffee tour at Doka Estate Coffee Tour I loved. It is a very Creole, cultural and authentic Costa Rican experience. The tour is entertaining and allows you to learn about the coffee process in a dynamic and well explained way. In addition, they have an excellent variety of coffees to taste, which makes the experience even more special. Definitely a recommended tour for those who want to know more about the coffee culture of Costa Rica.

Beautiful and interesting - We were supposed to go to the volcano but it was clouded over so we diverted here. The grounds are beautiful, coffee excellent, and tour very informative. Highly recommend.

Discover - Visiting this plantation is ideal to learn all the phases of harvesting , from the work of this golden "seed" that is Costa Rican coffee. A small tasting will be offered. The whole thing is instructive. Finally, it will be possible to visit a butterfly garden and make some purchases of local produce.

A great tour guide. - We had a really good tour , a very informative guide who talked about the process of growing picking the coffee beans, how they are processed and cleaned, then dried, then processed into coffee. The estate is large with some beautiful flowers and a mixture of trees. There is a shop where you can sample the coffee and chocolate, and buy a selection of gifts. There is also a restaurant which serves sandwiches, snacks and a buffet. Service was really slow and they ran out of filled croissants. Later toated sandwiches available. There is butterfly house which is well worth seeing after the tour. Make time to walk through the large estate, interesting array of 🌳 including mango trees and colourful bark eucalyptus

Good tour but disappointed - Very good coffee tour with friendly and highly knowledgeable guides. However, I recommend staying away from the gift shop. I would have thought that being right at the estate, the coffee would at least cost the same as the general retail price; nevertheless, they charged me $20 for a 300g bag, while on Doka's own online store, it costs only $13. I sent them an email a week ago to discuss the situation, and they didn't even reply with a greeting. To me, it feels like they are taking advantage of tourists—whether local or foreign—and on top of that, it’s very poor service to not even answer emails. If you want to buy coffee, look for another less touristy spot that shows more respect, or head to Hacienda Alsacia, where even though it is touristy, they at least charge the usual price.
