Coffee Tour - Loved everything about this coffee tour! Oscar did a fantastic job at explaining the process of how coffee beans are produced. We did this last minute since we had missed our opportunities to do any tours in Monteverde/Fortuna but I couldn’t have been happier with this one! Please consider them if you’re looking for coffee tours in Costa Rica!

Tasty treat and educational too - Nicely done and our guide had a great sense of humor. I can really remember the steps of wash, peel, sun roast, mechanical dry, roast. We were there towards the end of the 3 month harvest (Nov-Jan) and I would guess it is better as you could see beans in all the steps except roasting. Their coffee is very good, highly recommend d peaberry (they are mutated round beans) and the breakfast blend-you may taste all 5. The store has much of what you will see anywhere for tourist souvenirs.

Very beautiful, very interesting - The site is very beautiful. The guide explains the whole life of coffee plans, from planting to uprooting, through pruning. Then he explains the cultivation and preparation of grains. So we visit the plantation and then the factory.

Coffee Lovers will enjoy this tour - The Doka coffee plantation is the largest in Costa Rica. Our tour included a demonstration of how coffee beans are picked and processed to the point of seeing burlap sacks of dried beans ready to be distributed around the world. The grounds are beautiful with lots of gorgeous flowers. There are plenty of samples and the coffee we purchased to be shipped arrived at our house in Florida in just two days (before we even got back home).

A Very Complete Coffee Tour in Doka Estate - On our trip to Costa Rica in January, my partner and I decided to visit the Doka Estate Coffee Tour, as we wanted to learn more about the coffee process in one of the most renowned countries for its quality. The experience was very good and educational, with some details that could be improved, but overall, it was a worthwhile visit.
From the beginning, we found the organization of the tour well managed. We booked in advance and the arrival process was simple, with ample parking and good indications. We were greeted by a friendly team and assigned a guide who accompanied us throughout the tour.
The plantation tour was one of the most interesting moments. We learned about the different varieties of coffee, the planting and harvesting processes, and we could see the coffees in different stages of growth. The estate itself is beautiful, with natural landscapes that make the walk very pleasant.
The next part of the tour took us to the coffee processing area, where they explained how the bean is pulped, fermented and dried. It was fascinating to see the old machinery still in operation and learn about the history of the estate and its impact on coffee production in Costa Rica.
One of the most anticipated moments was the coffee tasting, where we could try different types of beans and preparation methods. The variety of flavors and aromas was impressive, and you can see the quality of the coffee produced in Doka. However, we felt that the tasting time was somewhat short as there were many people and everything was done a bit quickly. It would have been ideal to have more time to taste each type of coffee calmly.
At the end of the tour, we visited the souvenir and coffee shop, where there is a wide variety of products, from coffee bags in different presentations to souvenirs and chocolates. The only detail is that the store was quite busy, which made the shopping experience a bit rushed.
Overall, Doka Estate is a very well maintained estate, with an educational tour and excellent quality coffee. Although some aspects such as tasting and in-store organization could improve, it is still a recommended activity for those who want to know more about Costa Rican coffee and enjoy a unique natural environment. A very good experience worth including in any visit to Costa Rica

Interesting but expensive - It is a visit that allows to discover the cultivation of coffee plants; then all the steps necessary to obtain the bean; very pedagogy
This ends with a tasting of different types of coffee
All this is interesting but really expensive ($28 per person)
Possibility of lunch (buffet) on site for 14$; what is worth it
