Great intro to the city - Excellent tour of the key things that give San Jose its history, food flavors, and coffee. Malo was excellent and enthusiastic about sharing info and making your trip great. Terrain is easy and can be ridden without an e-bike.

Saw a lot of San Jose. - Terrific tour in San Jose. We biked to some parks, learned some history, ate amazing empanadas and had great coffee. The bikes were in very good condition. Helmets were provided. I’m not an urban cyclist but was able to ride carefully even with the traffic. I did feel overwhelmed by the pedestrian traffic at the end of the tour and walked up the last hill. None of the hills were very steep or long. Pablo our guide was careful not to go too fast and lose me. I’ve been left behind on other tours.

Don't miss this tour! - Pablo was amazing!
He was easy-going, he catered to our timing needs and he was loaded with information.
He was also a perfect cycle-tour leader, keeping a great eye on us for safety.
After having visited Costa Rica 3 times, we now have such a fuller understanding and impression of this beautiful country and people.
Highlights were the stops for Empanatas and coffee tastings with Felipe at Moro Cafe in Barrio Escalante.
We can't recommend Pablo and ChepeCletas enough!

Windy day bicycle tour - Laura was amazing. It's was just my buddy and I and we probably had more fun than normal tourists should AND we requested a few changes to the itinerary which Laura handled easily with alternate options. It was a lot of fun. The hills were not so bad and the weather was not so good. I do recommend the tour.

If you do one thing in San Jose… - We had the most incredible time on the Chepe Cletas Bike and Bites tour. We were not sure what to expect, but love to cycle so we were excited to explore San Jose in this way. Our tour guides Laura and Alex were absolutely fantastic! We were blown away by their deep knowledge about the history of San Jose and Costa Rica. They took us through many different neighborhoods and past major monuments stopping along the way to share stories and interesting facts. We were hanging on their every word. They were such great teachers and so friendly and funny and kind, it was fantastic! The two highlights of the tour were stoping at Modo Cafe and El Fronton. Modo Cafe is a beautiful, contemporary cafe situated inside an adorable gift shop. The whole space was fresh feeling, beautiful, and cozy. We were treated to a private coffee training and tasting where the owners Daniella and Felipe taught us about the different processes of beans and guided us through three different varieties. The coffee was delicious and we were so impressed. Daniella and Felipe were kind, fun and absolute experts. The shop has a lot of cute gifts and beautiful housewares. El Fronton was our other favorite stop. The second highlight was a local mainstay serving empanadas since 1948 and these were the best empanadas we have ever had. We had never had empanadas made of masa or corn before and these empanadas were fresh, hot, crunchy and delicious! We were so thrilled with the entire experience and it was the absolute best way to kick off our trip.

Bicycle tour Historic spots San Jose - Alex met us on time (we were 5 min late…sorry Alex) and immediately introduced himself. He remembered our kids names and spoke with them in a very engaging manner. The day after our tour our 12 year old shared many details he learned with family that I had already forgotten. The bikes were well maintained. Alex was very passionate and knowledgeable. He shared many historic spots with us that most tourists would never have found or even known existed! The empanada stop during a brief rainstorm, and the coffee demonstration were highlights of our tour!
We highly recommend this tour!!
