As a professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours chasing waves along the sun-drenched coasts of Central America. But this time, I decided to ride a different kind of wave—a cultural one. My wife and I packed our bags and headed to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, to dive into a Spanish immersion experience at the Lago Azul Spanish School.

Upon arrival, the town’s vibrant energy and stunning views immediately captivated us. The school, nestled right by the beach, offered a perfect blend of learning and leisure. The warm Nicaraguan sun, the sound of the waves, and the friendly locals made us feel right at home. We were ready to embrace the language and culture with open arms.
