October fun 2024 - Had a great time. Very adventurous hike to the river and back. DO NOT wear cheap shoes to hike you will regret it. The river rafting was great no too fast not too slow. Kelly our guide was great and very informative. The hike ain’t for small kids as it does get slippery and really hot. Water was clear and nice and cool which helped with the temperature. Food and beer was very satisfying at the end. Would do it again.

Just book the trip! - We had an amazing time with Mimi and Kelly. They were excellent and their warm hospitality was phenomenal. They taught us so much about the forest, showed us plants and brought us in tune with the beautiful Mother Nature. They were patient and kind while teaching how to master using our bodies to raft the river. If you’re thinking of doing this trip just do it! You will not regret it.

Once in a lifetime experience! You won't see PR like this anywhere else. - This was AMAZING! (Wear good shoes and biker shorts, I will tell you why below). It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Mimi is absolutely fantastic. She had us fascinated and laughing the entire time. Her knowledge of the local flora, fauna, and ecology is immense, and she educated us about the local ecosystem all along the trip. Her assistant Umberto (sp?) was fabulous! Floating the river was incredible. The views were simply amazing, especially the large cave we floated through. The river was great, not too cold at all. Remember, this is a river, with all its beauty and hazards, so be prepared. Be sure to wear good closed-toe shoes that you can hike in and that won't fall apart in the water. Mimi even wore hiking boots. My family all wore regular athletic shoes and that worked great. My daughter wore good athletic leggings under her swim shorts, which helped keep her warm. My wife just wore swim shorts and she was fine. My son and I wore regular swim shorts, and we were fine. I wore a long-sleeve rash guard and I'm glad I did. My advice would also be to wear padded biker shorts if you have them. Obviously, there are rocks in the river, and you are naturally going to bump into and roll over many of them. It was no big deal at all, but we had a few tender spots when we were done. If you are prone to bruising, some padded biker shorts would help a lot. You will be hiking quite a ways down to the river, and then a steep hike/climb back out, so make sure you understand what you are getting into. Nothing that anyone of average physical ability couldn't handle. A great lunch with plenty of cold drinks was provided when we got back to the cottage, which was a great touch. There are open showers on the side of the cottage that you can use for rinsing off, (she even provides shower gel), but I wouldn't plan on a full "shower" since they are wide open for everyone in the tour to see. :) Be sure to bring a change of clothes for after the trip (changing rooms are provided). We will be talking about this trip for years to come. Mimi really was SO hilarious and such a great guide. I gained a much greater appreciation for the beautiful environment of the mountains of Puerto Rico, and Mimi's enthusiasm for environmental preservation definitely rubbed off on my and my family. I highly recommend this tour!

Amazing views - One of a kind experience. Not for the weary, the trek down to the river and back up can be harrowing. The river is full of rocks but the guides take special care to make safety the #1 consideration.

Unique and adventurous! - My husband and 23 year old son had a fantastic time. Mimi, the tour organizer was very thorough with the details of the excursion, meeting point, body rafting techniques and safety measures. Kelly, our tour guide, was wonderful! She provided us with all the information to have a safe and enjoyable "ride" down the Tanama River. It is evident that Kelly loves what she does and her love for the outdoors and nature was contagious. It was so refreshing to have a small group, only 5 of us, and not 20+ people on the tour, it made the experience much more personal. Our family loved hanging out with the "Texans". Despite a few tush bruises from the rocks, I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone who is looking for a unique and adventurous experience in Puerto Rico.

An adventurous way to explore the rainforest - We had so much fun on this adventure. Mimi was very communicative and easy to work with. Our guide Kelly was fabulous. With kids or people unable to hike, climb, or move easily in/out of water could possess a challenge. Our group of 4 adults are avg age of 50. Physically fit and active. We loved it. Such a fun and unique way to explore PR

A fun experience in pure “nature”. - Mimi and Kelly were quite amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. Mimi was good at coordinating, communities clearly and even provided me with an alternative form of transportation as I was solo-travelling and I hadn’t rented a car. Kelly was our tour guide. She took us through the forest, down the stream, to a cave and back up. The location itself was quite scenic and breathtaking. It’s not a well-known destination, I think. I didn’t see anyone else besides our group, it felt even more unique. Kelly explained the local flora and fauna, the history behind how certain species ended up on the island, how certain sections of the island were formed. Safety wise, I and a couple of others who hadn’t prior swimming experience, felt really safe. She guided us through the tricky spots and made it a fun experience rather than a scary ride. Will definitely go back for this tour again.

Off the beaten path - Absolutely a must do if you enjoy adventure, being away from crowds, and being in water. Mimi was in communication to help us with any questions/concerns we had. We loved our time with Kelly. She was so much fun and knowledgeable guide. We felt very safe with her. The area is breathtaking. So beautiful. It did take a couple of tries to figure out how to body raft but lots of laughs as we learned. It will be helpful if you’re in shape. There is a moderate amount of hiking/climbing. If you struggle with mobility or balance this might not be for you. This is over an hour drive from San Juan far away from people. (One of the things we loved about it) The only thing that would have made this better is being able to body raft for the whole day. Such a fun experience. Can’t wait until we get our photos from the day.

Amazing time - I had an incredible experience right from the beginning. Kelly provided us with insightful knowledge about Puerto Rico's natural beauty and the importance of preserving it. The tour was an absolute blast, and the scenery was breathtaking—I'd gladly do it all over again. Just a tip: remember to wear long sleeves as it can get quite chilly.

River float - We did this tour as a family. We had to get our own rental car to get to the place but the tour company assisted with the booking and made sure we got their corporate rate. During this tour, you will float down a fairly shallow river. You will hit some rocks. It’s advisable to wear long-sleeved clothes for that reason. This tour is not good for people with back issues. Overall, we enjoyed the tour but it was not easy.
