Amazing history of an amazing culture. - Ricardo, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He took the time to answer our additional questions, and was clearly very interested in the topic. It is a very sunny and hot tour, but we were lucky to have lots of breeze. Make sure to wear sunscreen and a hat!

El Moro Fort - Amazing experience to learn about the fort and it’s purposes and what was used at that time for survival. There is also a beautiful view from every Angel of the fort itself.

Complex history of San Juan brought alive! - Ricardo did a great job bringing the history of San Juan and El Morro alive. As soon as you start to chat with Ricardo, you can tell that history is his passion. He is able to bring the full complexity of the history of the Carribean into the narrative. Before going into the fort, we started in San Juan and learned about the town that El Morro was built to protect. While walking towards the structure, Ricardo pointed out the stages of construction within the city and as we got closer all the defensive features of the fort itself. He did a good job balancing the various political and historical points of view without loosing his identity as a Puerto Rican. His English was excellent (better than mine). Oh and btw, he designed the tour!
