Knowledge Development which covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. Confined Water Dives where you will learn and practice scuba skills in a pool or water with pool-like conditions. You will make mini dives that take you through the same steps you follow when you make open water dives.
Open Water Dives where you will complete your training at local dive sites.
You must complete the Knowledge Development part of the course before conducting any of the Confined and Open Water Dives.

Worth the Work - Wonderful and challenging experience. Octo taught us what we need to know to be safe and confident divers. Took the time to work with me on what I needed. Harder than it looks, but rewarding!

Professional and knowledgeable - Scuba Dogs is an incredibly professional outfit. Our instructor Paco worked with my autistic son to ensure he had all the knowledge he needed to be safe and have fun. He patiently worked through his sensory issues and ensured he had a positive experience. I was incredibly happy with the process and the results.

PADI Open Water Certified in PR - As first-time SCUBA divers, we were delighted to discover a PADI 5-star dive shop conveniently located in the heart of San Juan. Our instructors, Paco and Dale, guided us through two days of diving in Escambron Bay. Their meticulous attention to detail and patient approach ensured we mastered all necessary skills. Dale's supportive coaching helped me overcome a mental barrier related to removing my mask underwater. They also offer the option of an extra day for practicing basic skills in a pool at another location before advancing to the bay for practice dive sessions. Overall, we highly recommend this shop for anyone seeking quality PADI open water diver certification within a 2-3 day timeframe.

Got our scuba diving certification here, and they are the best! - My wife and I are spending the winter in Puerto Rico, and decided to get our dive certifications while here, which is something we’ve thought about for a long time. We researched the different scuba operators, and are SO happy we went with Scuba Dogs for our 3-day open water diver course. Doing scuba for the first time is kinda scary, but our guide (and everyone else we met at Scuba Dogs) was awesome. Our guide (Dale) has done like 15,000 dives, and it shows. He’s got so much real world experience, and also so much teaching experience that it feels like he taught us more than the PADI course even covers. He challenges you in a good, safe way, and we went from being nervous on day 1 to feeling so much more comfortable and confident in our abilities by the end of day 3. As mentioned above, we looked at a lot of scuba operators, but Scuba Dogs one of the only (or the only?) PADI five-star certified one here. Overall, I can highly, highly recommend them. They are fantastic.

Great communication and instructor - Communication between the staff andI was prompt and helpful. They called me a few timea to make sure everything was in order. They also made sure I stayed very safe- there was some concerning weather and they made sure I was to be safe and enjoy the training.
On my arrival, my instructor, Dale, explained all skills with clarity and humor. When we got in the water, he made sure to assess my needs at every point. He encouraged me and thanks to him, I passed!
The area where they teach the course, Escambron, is very cute, confined and has some observable marine life. The facility was accessible and comfortable.

Great scuba shop! - I did the two day open water scuba certification. Paco was my instructor, and he did an amazing job. Very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time I was learning all the new skills. The two day course is definitely packed and expect to be there 8-5 both days but doable. Before the first day he sent me a video to watch too for what to expect during our dives.

Best a experience 100% - Knowledge, experience, people skills… I can express my gratitude enough. My instructor Paco is THE BEST! Hia crew Britt and Jamie were amazing as well. I couldn’t have better time. Want to get certified? Scuba Dog is your way to go!

Get off your porch and dive with the big DOGS! - We loved this area of the marine park, right next door to Old San Juan. The Scuba Dogs crew was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They were available (in the off season) to get my certification complete on a short notice. Paco was so patient with me, a complete novice, and took his time reviewing all the skills and trained as we went along for a very thorough and safe experience. I felt very cared for as the conditions were choppy, and the visibility was poor yet we persevered, and Paco maintained a cool and calm composure to support me through two days of skills, training, and certification. The scuba sites had fun structures underwater to help acclimate to the underwater world.
The attentive communication with the SDs crew was great, they were on top of their game. We were in capable hands from start to finish! The area felt safe and clean and they had all the gear needed to get it done!
Thank you Scuba Dogs, keep doing what you do so well!
