Confined Water Dives where you will learn and practice scuba skills in a pool or water with pool-like conditions. You will make mini dives that take you through the same steps you follow when you make open water dives.
Open Water Dives where you will complete your training at local dive sites.
You must complete the Knowledge Development part of the course before conducting any of the Confined and Open Water Dives.

Would recommend to all of my friends and family!!!! - I got scuba certified by Paco and had the most awesome 3-day scuba experience. Paco was attentive and patient, and was sure to be thorough in the theory portion of the scuba certification, which made me more confident once it was time to hit the open water. I got to dive in all three of scuba dogs locations out of San Juan and all were incredible. On the last day we went to the Copa Marina and took a boat out to “The wall” and got to bring along my friend who was already scuba certified. That was the best day of my trip to San Juan in November! We had the pleasure of diving with multiple dive masters/ teachers from scuba dogs, all who were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and made sure we got to see the best views possible!
The other guides we had on board were Manolo and Phil who were awesome people to dive with, as well as a fellow master diver who had booked with Scuba Dogs. We all got great footage underwater and got to see some amazing sights! Thank you to the team at scuba dogs for being so great!!!!

10/10 would recommend and dive with this team again!!!! Thank you Scuba Dogs! - I booked a 3 day diving experience with Scuba Dogs PR to get PADI certified and complete some open water dives. The entire Scuba Dogs team made my experience such an awesome time.. Every single member of their team was a pleasure to speak and work with. My instructor, Paco Hernandez, was very thorough in ensuring that I understood all of the safety requirements and was super patient in teaching me every day. The first day I spent in the pool in San Juan, then I went to the Cove for our second day of training, and the last day we spent at Copa Marina. All of these locations were great. On the last day, I was able to bring a friend for a dive, and we got to dive with another guest and Paco, Manolo and Phil (from the Scuba Dogs team). We all had the best time together!!! There was incredible visibility for our dive from the boat, where we got to see black tip reef sharks at the famous Wall running through Puerto Rico, which we got to from the Copa Marina location. The sharks were just one of a thousand different species we got to see in their natural habitat. It was a day to remember... Truly a great experience and I would recommend booking any scuba tours with them to my friends and family.

Amazing Experience getting my Open Water! - Came to Puerto Rico and got my Open Water Certification with Dale, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Dale was an outstanding instructor—extremely patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. He not only helped me master the skills needed for diving but also made the entire learning process enjoyable and confidence-building. Thanks to his guidance, I felt well-prepared for the dives and inspired to continue exploring additional certifications in the future.
During the dives, I had the privilege of encountering some incredible marine life. From stingrays to turtles, eels, lobsters, and crabs, it felt like a whole new world opened up beneath the surface. The richness and diversity of marine wildlife left me in awe, and I can’t wait to see what adventures lie ahead in my diving journey!

Professional and knowledgeable - Scuba Dogs is an incredibly professional outfit. Our instructor Paco worked with my autistic son to ensure he had all the knowledge he needed to be safe and have fun. He patiently worked through his sensory issues and ensured he had a positive experience. I was incredibly happy with the process and the results.

PADI Open Water Certified in PR - As first-time SCUBA divers, we were delighted to discover a PADI 5-star dive shop conveniently located in the heart of San Juan. Our instructors, Paco and Dale, guided us through two days of diving in Escambron Bay. Their meticulous attention to detail and patient approach ensured we mastered all necessary skills. Dale's supportive coaching helped me overcome a mental barrier related to removing my mask underwater. They also offer the option of an extra day for practicing basic skills in a pool at another location before advancing to the bay for practice dive sessions. Overall, we highly recommend this shop for anyone seeking quality PADI open water diver certification within a 2-3 day timeframe.
