Highlights
  • Arecibo - We are going for street typical food like at arecibo food street and recharge energy for the charco azul adventure! The drive to Vega Baja caves let you appreciate mountain views before arrive.
  • Cueva del Indio - When you arrive we hike to the caves (bring sturdy shoes to walk on rocky surface). The entrance of the cave is not recommended for claustrophobic people. Is a little bit challenging and exciting at the same time, but with our instructions you will be able to get in. You will see more than 150 carvings of our ancestors in the stones for over hundreds of years ago. This cave looks from another world. After you go out of the cave, we hike to the seven arcs which offer stunning views of the sea. It’s perfect for taking pictures with your friends and family!
  • Vega Baja - This tour is to a rather undiscovered area of the island, far away from crowds and large groups of tourists. You’ll hike through rivers, visit an underground cave, and get the chance to do some swimming. These mountains have been carved by river for millions of years creating all sorts of amazing rocks formations and caves.

Additional Information

First Stop: Taino Cave, Arecibo
These ancient caves are a fascinating testament to the island’s pre-Columbian history, having been inhabited by the Taíno people, the island’s indigenous inhabitants. As we explore the caves, you’ll discover the intricate petroglyphs—rock carvings that depict symbols and figures significant to Taíno culture. The caves are not only a cultural treasure but also an enchanting natural wonder with breathtaking views.

Next Stop: Arenales Caves, Vega Baja
is one of the region’s most popular natural attractions. It is known for its clear waters and pictures surroundings, making it an ideal spot for swimming and enjoying nature. The arenales caves in Vega Baja are geological formations that have developed over thousands of years due to water erosion and other natural processes. To finish we jump into the water to feel the adventure! (Cliffjumps are optional) It’s always recommended to wear closed-toe shoes for better safety

So much fun exploring! - We had an incredible time exploring the more remote parts of Puerto Rico with our tour guide Airam. We arrived with another couple and Airam was there waiting for our adventure, right on time. Our first stop to the Taino Indian Cave was beautiful, watching the ocean spray hit the rock formations that have formed over so many years. After hiking up, we were met with the cave entrance which Airam expertly guided us through to continue exploring the cave. Once in the cave we stopped for some photo ops and information about the markings found inside. After enjoying a little ocean spray we hiked our way out and headed out to our next destination. Along the way we made a pit stop at a local food truck for some delicious food and refreshments. The Vega Baja cave experience was equally beautiful, with a trek down a trail and a very manageable jump into the river. We waded through and swam our way to the cave, spent some time checking it out, and made our way out after some time. Airam was a great guide, super friendly with a ton of fun conversation along the way. We highly recommend this tour!

Adrenaline Rush - What an awesome experience! Our guides Jean Louis and Airam were great ambassadors-knowledgeable, friendly, highly conversant (in English and Spanish), but most of all they made us feel safe during this adventure. This will be a trip we’ll be talking about for years! We were glad to have them make this so memorable and would have them take us on another adventure in a heartbeat. Thank you!
