Highlights

From your hotel in San Juan, Condado or Isla Verde, your guides will pick you up in a club wagon van and take you on a 45 minute drive to your destination, located atop a beautiful mountain range near the city of Caguas. After a quick restroom stop, where you will also have the opportunity to buy any last minute snacks, you will continue on your drive to your tour site as you enjoy the mountain scenery and lifestyle. Once you arrive, your guides will provide you with a helmet and harness and provide you with a brief introduction. You will then start hiking uphill to reach the river trail, where the actual nature adventure begins. Before entering the forest, the guides will give the group a detailed safety talk to prepare you for the upcoming activities. The first part of the adventure consists of an upriver hike through a spring water river and forest, where you will get to also climb up river waterfalls and hills using secured ropes until you reach the top of the El Salto Waterfall. Once you arrive at the rappel station, your guides will give you detailed instruction on how to rappel down the waterfall using secure specialized rappelling equipment. After the group has descended the waterfall you will hike down river until you reach the ziplines, a total of 5, which will take you back to where you started the forest hike. Once the group is back at base camp, you will be given the opportunity to change into your dry clothes. From here it is just a short walk to “Grandma’s” house, where you will get to sit down and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. You are usually back in San Juan between 3 and 4pm, depending on the group size, speed and traffic conditions. Points of Interest - Rocaliza Adventure Tours

Worth every penny for authentic, non- touristy adventure! - Andrea, Patricia, Sami took great care of us women who just want adventure- at 48 and 49 years old we we were unsure if we could actually do it- but we wanted to be able to so bad so we booked it and psyched ourself up ready to tackle the challenge. The first 5 minutes really were the hardest- climbing steep road before we got into the forest. Patricia loves to share her love for nature and share all the fun facts of different plants and animals and even history on the area. After the first five minutes It was still lots of climbing up but our guides were so helpful and made the whole thing just fun and rewarding. We were just in aw by the beauty that surrounded us. We knew right away that we have discovered a very special jewel in this non touristy- authentic excursion. Climb was worth it- gorgeous views and then came the rappelling down the waterfall- I'll be honest I was scared but was confidently cheered on as they walked us every step of the way. I was even made to feel confident enough to enjoy the view from the middle of the falls! We came and we conquered! Next, we had fun ziplining over the three waterfalls we just climbed. For us it was all about the climb and the rappel. The zip lining was fun but the other was just AMAZING!! Last was lunch at grandma's house. Deliscious home coming in an authentic Puerto Rican countryside.... worth every penny we spent! Just do it! You won't regret it! Just be prepared to be pushed past your limits! But it's worth it!!!

Family fun trip - My wife, daughters, and I had an unforgettable adventure with Patricia and Jorge guiding us through repelling, zip lining, and climbing in the heart of the forest. Their expertise and enthusiasm made the experience truly exceptional, and it’s something we’ll cherish forever! A special thank you to Abuela for the delicious lunch—it was the perfect way to end an incredible day. Highly recommend this experience!

Best family trip! - We had an amazing family trip. Jorge, Patricia and Sam took such good care of us. All of us had a blast and loved just about every single minute of the tour. Ending at Abuella’s house for lunch was a bonus. Repelling was the best, and most gorgeous part! We loved the zip lines as well, so fun . Highly, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Thank you for the perfect day! This is something we will be talking about for years to come. We also loved that Pepper and Bruno (dogs) joined us on the climb. They helped motivate us. That climb was more physical than I expected, but it was soooooo worth it. The group took their time with us and allowed us to rest when needed. (I needed some rest at times, I was the oldest of the group and the most out of shape)

10/10 Experience - it was an absolutely amazing experience! it was a lot more physical than i was expecting but the guides Jorge, Patrica and Sam allowed us to take our time and completely understood if we ever needed a break. They also made us feel like the experience was personal rather than a tour we booked. Moreover, the repelling and zip lines were so fun and they were super patient with those who have never done anything like that before. Lastly, at the end we were given a home cooked meal to finish our experience that was absolutely delicious and much needed. I highly recommend this experience whether you’re with family, friends or even by yourself. P.S. they have the cutest dogs that come with you on the tour, making the experience even more fun!

The authentic lunch at the end was delicious. The entire trip was not touristy and we all enjoyed being immersed in the culture and land of Puerto Rico.

Exciting Authentic Adventure - This was an extremely authentic Puerto Rican experience. We were essentially rock climbing through the forest, which was a fun challenge to get to the 80ft waterfall. If you’re up for an adventure, this is definitely the best tour you can do! It was such a fun and unique experience - one of the best days of our entire trip!

An adventure that made me feel at home again - An incredible experience! Andrea, Patricia, and Samy were a great team who took everyone’s safety very seriously. If you decide to take this tour, do exactly as they say and do. They know the land better than even you think you do. Humble yourself and be willing to trust them when it comes to receiving instruction. The reason I mentioned this is because there are certain points of the excursion that caught even someone like me a bit off guard. This is a true adventure. There are points where accidents can occur and you will be physically and mentally tested. This is not for the faint of heart or the ill-prepared, however not impossible to accomplish. The water rappelling was the highlight of the hike and totally delivers on the adrenaline side. It’s the main part of the experience I wish I could experience again. Of course, at the end of the zipline course you will be treated with a first-class true Puerto Rican countryside meal which brought back memories of my grandmother’s cooking. This tour managed to take some of the best aspects of Puerto Rico: the adventure, the warmth and friendliness of the people and the unique and flavorful cuisine and roll it up into one unforgettable experience that made me feel at home again.

Perfect way the spend a day! - A great way to spend a day in the natural beauty that is Puerto Rico! Our guides were, as always, fantastic! Professional, instructional and patient. Sammy, Patricia and Jorge all maintain a high level of concern for safety without acting or sounding like over protective parents!! 🤣😂! Yes, I have been on this day long adventure several times..! Knowledge of their surroundings is evident immediately as are the skills they possess, not only to complete this hiking adventure safely but to guide a dozen or so individuals with varying levels of skill! Suffice to say, this experience is for everyone…make your reservations. Don’t miss it! The only regret you’ll have is not having done it sooner!
