Highlights

From your hotel in San Juan, Condado or Isla Verde, your guides will pick you up in a club wagon van and take you on a 45 minute drive to your destination, located atop a beautiful mountain range near the city of Caguas. After a quick restroom stop, where you will also have the opportunity to buy any last minute snacks, you will continue on your drive to your tour site as you enjoy the mountain scenery and lifestyle. Once you arrive, your guides will provide you with a helmet and harness and provide you with a brief introduction. You will then start hiking uphill to reach the river trail, where the actual nature adventure begins. Before entering the forest, the guides will give the group a detailed safety talk to prepare you for the upcoming activities. The first part of the adventure consists of an upriver hike through a spring water river and forest, where you will get to also climb up river waterfalls and hills using secured ropes until you reach the top of the El Salto Waterfall. Once you arrive at the rappel station, your guides will give you detailed instruction on how to rappel down the waterfall using secure specialized rappelling equipment. After the group has descended the waterfall you will hike down river until you reach the ziplines, a total of 5, which will take you back to where you started the forest hike. Once the group is back at base camp, you will be given the opportunity to change into your dry clothes. From here it is just a short walk to “Grandma’s” house, where you will get to sit down and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. You are usually back in San Juan between 3 and 4pm, depending on the group size, speed and traffic conditions. Points of Interest - Rocaliza Adventure Tours

It was a fun hydrenaline rush, great tour guides, extremely safe, and very thrilling, - Best part was eating a nice Puertorican lunch, after we burned a bunch of calories and also the rappelling down the waterfall. Make sure you bring good shoe it’s a very wet and muddy terrain when it rains. Super safe travel guides.

Yes Yes Yes this excursion was EVERYTHING - What I really loved about this trip was the waterfall experience. Just be prepared for an intense hike, but it definitely is worth it and the waterfall will cool you off for sure. Our tour guides were super attentive, very nice very knowledgeable and as a bonus, their dog even came on the trail with us Bruno, how cool is that. This excursion was definitely worth the experience in Puerto Rico after we finished the excursion. We went to Abuela‘s house and she had food for us. It was really really good. It was a long full day, but it was worth it the hiking the waterfalls the zip lining. I have no complaints thank you thank you thank you.

Amazing adventure - We had wonder time on this tour! The waterfall rappelling was awesome, zip lining was nice and relaxing at the end, but my favorite was the hike up the mountain and seeing all the nature. The lunch at the end was delicious. This tour is absolutely worth it, all in our group loved it! The guides are so awesome too! Or and the dogs!!!

Would give them six stars if I could - Everything about this excursion was exactly what I had hoped it would be ... and more! Firstly, they are NOT kidding when they tell you that you need to be in shape. You need to have short nails, reasonable upper body strength, and good legs. The word "hike" inspires an image of walking uphill with a stick; this is more of a climb. You will get completely wet and dirty. BUT, it was hands-down my favorite part of our honeymoon! They picked us up, brought us to their home, and walked us straight into the rainforest. We got to drink the cleanest water I've ever tasted, they took professional-grade photos and videos of us, and they communicated clearly the entire way. Every step looked like something out of a postcard. The best part, though, was their dog, Bruno - we would be climbing up some crazy slope or taking a zipline across a ravine, and there he would be, waiting on the other side with his tail wagging! It was really quite impressive. I count him as a tour guide. He did great. They made and served us lunch on their porch when we got back, and it honestly doesn't get kinder (or more authentic) than that. It was absolutely delicious and the view was stunning. Then they dropped us back at our hotel, and suddenly it was over. I will remember this experience fondly for the rest of my life, and I cannot recommend it enough!

Fun challenge - Great exercise and tons of fun. Tour guides Patricia and Ellie made it worthwhile and had great enthusiasm and knowledge! Once it’s time to rappel down the cliff, don’t panic on the feet dangling part. Keep calm, follow their instructions and you will land perfectly with a good deal of pride.

Adventure! - This was the highlight of our trip to San Juan! The guides, Ellie, Andrea, and Fransisco were incredible. I felt very safe on this tour. I had a lot of nervousness about the hike and rappelling, but felt safe at every step. It is important to note that it was strenuous! Not everyone in our group was able to do the hike. Be prepared for going uphill, climbing up rocks, and using ropes to pull yourself up! That being said, I’m not someone who frequents the gym, but I am in my 20’s. I at no point doubted my strength and ability to go up. This tour left me feeling very accomplished and proud of myself. And the zip lining was really fun! A great way to wrap up the tour.

A fun day in Caguas - We arrived at the hotel where the pick up spot was going to be a little before 9. Andrea and Jorge our tour guides showed up a bit later after picking up the other girls that were going. The ride there was relaxed and lasted about an hour. I’m not sure if the ride is quite as long normally as Jorge did say there was higher traffic than usual that day. Once we got there we got the chance to use the bathroom and began our trek shortly. Hardest part for me personally was walking up hill in the road before we got into the forest. My favorite part about this hike was having the dogs come along with us. It was a nice surprise! And out tour guides were super helpful, always making sure we felt safe, especially Samuel. In spots that were tricky to get up from we always had help. Andrea was super kind and took videos of us as we water rappelled. Definitely make sure to bring a protective case for your phone as it will inevitably get wet. Lastly we zip-lined. I would 100% do this again. Although it was hard, it was a good time and we were met with one of the best meals I had during my time and Puerto Rico. Thank you Jorge, Andrea, and Samuel for making this a good experience!
