Long airport layover with family of 6 - We went with our family of 6 for a tour at Tunco beach while we had an 8 hour layover here. Our teens especially loved this area! Our guide was so patient with us. Our flight was late arriving and it took some time getting through customs(we had to pay airline taxes $17 pp plus our $12 visa for the adults) and we ended up starting our tour an hour later due to this but our guide was great. He had a sign with our name as soon as we left the airport so easy to find. The beach here isn't really for swimming but you can rent a board and surf. We just spent our time walking around and having drinks and eating ice cream. The vibe of the area reminds me of something like Myrtle Beach. We were there in early evening which was super fun but for families with younger kids I wouldn't think the nightlife later in the night would be your scene. Without kids it looked like the night life was awesome! Super relaxed and everyone is extremely friendly and proud of the country. We felt totally safe the whole time and look forward to visiting again. El Salvador is a hidden gem! SO glad we didn't stay in the airport!

Epic experience - We recently did the 7 waterfalls tour, it was an epic experience, like no other. I been to several tours around the world, but nothing compares to this one, amazing views, high intense physical activity. We still can't believe that we got to experience this, we'll definitely recommend this to family & friends. Rafael/Alex were the best guides.

Excellent guides for a weekend in El Salvador - I also took their Ruta de las Flores tour along with this one to complete my weekend getaway to explore El Salvador! I’m so glad I did. Great communication from the start. Flexible and eager to work with my schedule and ideas to incorporate into the flow. Got to enjoy the fantastic Tunco beach and then got an evening tour of San Salvador on top of it . Just fantastic all around.

What an incredible experience! - My husband and I had a 20 hour layover in El Salvador. We booked a airport transfer with Eco Tours Petate. This is a family run company that offers great pricing for services. Osmaro was quick to respond to my questions and for ease we talked through Whatsapp. He was waiting for us at the airport with a sign which was so convenient! He was so friendly and informative. Osmaro immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. On our drive to the hotel he told us all about the history of El Salvador and current efforts to boost tourism in this beautiful country. Since we were only there for a brief time he offered to pick us up a little earlier and show us El Tunco Beach before heading back to the airport. We happily accepted and had a wonderful time checking out the beach and the little village. If you are looking for an airport transfer or a tour throughout El Salvador, I 100% recommend Eco Tours Petate! We had the best time and very much look forward to a return trip where we can see Osmaro again!

Great beach - I got cancelled a visit to Costa del Sol and I got a tour to El Tunco. Lovely place, tried the ceviche and everything was outstanding. The fare does not include meals, so you will spend around USD 30 more than the fare mentioned above, but not problem at all.

4-hour San Salvador’s Historical Tour - There was a group of 7 on my Sunday tour (09:00-12:30), so we didn’t go to the Banco Hipotecario Museum. Most the group were Spanish speakers and there was less dialogue in English, but the guide did give some personal insights in English. We went to a pupuseria for pupusas (no host) as the final leg of the tour. Cost was about $2 for the quick snack.
