Setting Sail on the San Juan Swamp

The morning sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon as I arrived at the San Juan Reservoir, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of pine and the promise of adventure. As a marine biologist, I’ve always been drawn to water, and the idea of exploring hidden coves and beaches by kayak was too enticing to resist.

After a warm welcome and a thorough briefing, I was handed my paddle and life jacket.
