Fantastic Food in San Miguel! - Our evening food tour was one of the highlights of our visit to San Miguel. We enjoyed five dishes (from tortilla soup to dessert) in five different restaurants. All of the dishes were first-class: delicious, well-presented, and served in generous portions. They were also creative, including a very tasty jicama taco and a stuffed pepper that stands head and shoulders above anything we've had in Texas. Our guide Elisa was friendly, hospitable, informative, and conscientious. One person on the tour was a vegetarian and Elisa made the necessary adjustments for her dishes without missing a beat. Each course was accompanied by wonderful non-alcoholic beverages that complemented the dishes nicely. We give this tour our highest recommendation and hope that you will not miss the opportunity to enjoy it when you are in San Miguel.

Must do tour for food lovers in San Miguel de Allende - This was a great tour and a highlight of our trip. The food and service was wonderful and Elisa, our guide, was an excellent resource. She was born and raised in San Miguel and her information on the history of food in the San Miguel region was a highlight. Highly recommended.

Great night eating delicious new foods! - Wonderful tour! Elisa gave us great information about the food and the city. All the food was wonderful. I’d never had four of the five dishes before and it was all delicious. It was fun to see five different restaurants all in one night as well!

YUM!!! - My favorite food tour in SMA. I love to try different restaurants and their signature dishes. I found this food tour to be the very BEST! The dishes are fantastic and varied. The tour guide knew his stuff and was very friendly and informative. I especially liked the chile en nogada. Just thinking about it makes me want to return to SMA!

Disappointing Tour Guide - The food was very good at the various restaurants but the there was really any tour since the tour guide spent most of his time trying to sell his art and didn’t tell us, or show us, anything about San Miguel. We asked him questions but he didn’t no any of the answers and just talked about himself.

Wonderful guide - subpar food - Our recent food tour in San Miguel de Allende, led by the exceptional Elisa Torres, was a mix of highs and lows. Elisa was undoubtedly the highlight of the experience. Her warmth, extensive knowledge of the city’s history, the Catholic Church, and local traditions brought depth and meaning to the tour. She mentioned offering other tours, and based on her expertise and engaging personality, I would absolutely seek her out again. Unfortunately, while Elisa’s guidance was outstanding, the food aspect of the tour left much to be desired. The first three restaurants we visited were unremarkable, with some dishes falling below expectations. Although the final two stops were more enjoyable, they didn’t fully redeem the overall culinary experience. Compared to food tours we’ve experienced in other destinations, this one fell short in terms of quality, variety, and portion sizes. The selections were redundant, featuring an overabundance of tacos, and the tour felt overpriced for what it delivered. While Elisa’s talent and passion deserve recognition, the food component did not meet the standard we’ve come to expect from similar experiences. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this tour, though I would gladly join another led by Elisa in a different context.
