Laura was great! - Laura was an amazing tour guide! We saw so many areas of the city that we would never have found. Her knowledge and fun personality made out trip!

Perfect afternoon acquainting us with San Miguel - Laura was a wonderful guide. She’s very familiar with the local art and food scene. We were able to get shopping and dining tips from her. She catered our tour to our interests!

A great locals perspective of SMA - Our guide took us through neighborhoods we would not have found on our own. We also appreciated her locals list of restaurants to dine at.

Would highly recommend this tour to others. - This was a great, getting-to-know A beautiful city, San Miguel. Our guide, Laura, kept us on track, and gave us a thorough overview of the Centro district.

A tour to remember - I booked from the states the Tacos and Tequila tour but unfortunately I had to cancel so I called Taste of San Miguel tours and explain the situation, they reschedule with no problem. Unfortunately I head to reschedule again because I wasn’t feeling very good, I contacted the agency again and again they were very helpful, they gave me another option that did not included so much tequila and food, The tour guide was Alma and it entail walking around historic points and ending with lunch. I could not have been treated better, the tour was very informative and pleasant. Alma, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly and eager to please. Ones we finalized the tour she helped us in getting other tours in Guanajuato and left us her phone number in case we needed any help. I can’t describe how fantastic the experience was bur I wouldn’t hesitate to take another tour with this group and specially with Alma. The name of the rep is Vail Kristna.

The “Non-Walking” Walking City - It’s a great “walking city” that’s challenging to walk. It has more stuff to see than any place we’ve visited ( and we’ve been on the road in Latin America for 16 months)…if you don’t mind treadmill elevation, narrow sidewalks and cobblestone streets. Granted, we are staying three months in the hills surrounding the historic centro, so our comments should be viewed from that vantage point. Overall? Gray place for a few days; longer stays should keep your lodging location (aka somewhere on flat land) in mind.

Not what was expected - None. The guide had very little knowledge. Gave us xerox copy of what we supposedly saw at the end of the walk.

A bit boring from a older lady - Louda was not at meeting point at 12. It was hot and she found us at 12:10. Said she was looking for us under the trees about 50 yards away. She said she was asking other ladies if they were Darlene. Then she did not speak to 4 of us. I’m the group leader who has been to SMA several times. Other three ladies were new to SMA. Just frustrating that they couldn’t hear her well. Her voice did not carry, she was older (over 65, I’m thinking) and just didn’t have a ‘fun personality’ that we expected. No funny stories about being a local, hidden places, unique sites that tourists don’t go to. One lady was interested in doors so we did see doors! At Rosewood to see the beautiful view from rooftop, she told me we were not allowed to see the view due to workers cleaning the area. Huh? I went over and was told to help ourselves to the view. Louda was getting ready to take us back downstairs. Not confident in telling workers we only want 3 minutes to take a picture? Lots of walking single file on sidewalks which couldn’t be helped! Tempuras probably 85 degrees and she just wasn’t I tuned to our needs. Stopping and resting in park which I suggested to ‘recharge’ in the heat was necessary. Stopping for a cold drink would have been nice. We did see doors, sidewalks, the park, the old washing area used long ago, and she did share info about houses renting out front to little tiendas. Rent has risen so high that it’s not possible to live in the city without extra income to pay new taxes. Tour was just ok! 2 stars!

Not a real tour, complete disappointment. - My group and myself felt terribly disappointed with the tour we got last week. We asked for this to be cut short, because of how terrible it was going. The person who gave us the "tour" as nice and polite as she was, had absolutely no idea of San Miguel de Allende, and while this might work for foreigners, we as Mexicans soon realized she had no clue. We learned absolutely nothing, I feel totally ripped off being that there are very high quality tours that charge nothing, I overpaid expecting a good experience. Be aware of this experience as it’s presented as a non formal friendly guide, however doesn’t make sense to pay for literally nothing. You can find very well prepared guides in the streets who also speak very good English.

Laura was a nice lady,... - Laura was a nice lady, but did not give us a tour of anything. She did have a prepared written pieces, but no help in telling you about anything. We were very surprised as we have used Viator probably 100 times. You should stop this program. You need a real guide. Also, English not understanable. Thumbs down!
