Best Tequila tasting you will ever do if you really want to learn. - Alex is an expert and an incredible teacher of agave spirits. We own a high end Tequila/Mezcal bar in a tourist city in Mexico and know a fair share about the craft. We have done too many tastings to count. Alex is on another level. By far the most informative and fun tasting we have done. We didn't want to leave, he challenged much of our previous beliefs around taste and quality, while breaking things down in such easy and digestible ways. You will learn more than just the tequila making process, culture and history. With Alex you will learn about taste, flavor and quality and how it is much more universal and objective than you thought. And as you walk out at the end of the tour, you might actually ask yourself as we did, if you had just passed a sommelier exam!

Fun and educational! - Alex was an extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and funny guide. We all learned a lot about tequila and more broadly about how to taste alcoholic beverages of all kinds. The space is a cozy and charming tasting room, and the selections of tequilas were excellent. Two notes: first, it was not actually a blind tasting. And second, it would have been nice if he allocated a little more time to the tasting, as it was a bit rushed at the end. All in all it was a terrific experience.

FABULOUS class! Absolutely one of the best things we did in San Miguel! - My husband and I had a private tequila and mezcal tasting with Alex in March, 2024. It was INCREDIBLE. This was like a class on LIFE. Alex is such a wonderful teacher, guiding us through every aspect of tequila and mexcal -- the plant itself, the process of making the liquors. But more than just the nuts and bolts of tequila and mezcal, Alex taught us HOW TO taste, how to identify families of aromas and taste. It was, frankly, a little mind-blowing. On top of that, we were treated to Alex's wonderful analogies and sense of humor. I highly, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this masterclass. It will teach you more about yourself than anything else. We loved every single second and it was worth every penny.

A ton of fun! - We had a wonderful evening with Alex learning about and tasting tequila and mezcal. He is incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and welcoming. We bought a lovely bottle of tequila we know we'll enjoy and plan to come back for a blind wine tasting. Great fun!

A Sommelier for Tequila - Alex Galina is a very educated “sommelier” but he doesn’t call himself that. He is certified in many different countries as a wine expert. His master class in Tequila Tasting was both educational and fun. I highly recommend if you want a deep dive in what makes a good tequila!

Tequila Experience - It is an understatement to call this experience simply a tequila tasting. It was an education that will help us better appreciate the taste of tequila, and by extension, the taste of wine. Alex is passionate about his field, and his knowledge is extensive. We did the tequila experience this time and loved it, but next time in San Miguel we will do the wine experience. Thank you, Alex, for an unforgettable 2 hours.
