10/10 full breakdown, for beginners - 10/10 great for beginners. Never went scuba diving before this and the guides Juan, Angel, and I *think* William (introductions were brief) were soooo kind and helpful. Very thorough instructions and it was a great tour. We booked through trip advisor and we went on a Carnival Cruise in March/April. The water was perfect temperature. There is a 15$ for 2x people taxi service or an hour walk on a footpath to the Chankannab resort. At the resort there is a Mayan nature walk with replicas of statues, houses and a sea lion show included in the park and a beautiful lagoon. Beach areas to swim and beach chairs with umbrellas to use for free as well. Snorkeling gear can even be borrowed for free after the scuba tour and you get a free drink after the dive. The two underwater statues we saw were very cool and one of the tour guides had an underwater camera that took great photos. You CAN bring your own camera too as a few of our fellow tour guests brought theirs. Overall it was great and sparked a newfound love of scuba and my husband and I are going to try and get certified so we can continue scuba diving. I'd say the whole underwater time was about 45-50 minutes since the instructions were so thorough but that was a good thing. There were **tiny** thimble jelly fish that did leave one or two very minor itchy stings on my arm and leg that went away very quickly but reading online I found it's normal after storms and normal around this time of year for there to be some tiny jellies. Wetsuit would avoided this completely but not necessary since
the irritation was so minor. For the price and being a beginner it was fantastic!

Nice refresher scuba dive - This is a great option if you are new to scuba diving or if it's been a while. We saw lots of fish and other sea creatures. They also provide snorkeling equipment, chairs, a locker, drink and access to the beach. Our guide, Angel, was really awesome and helped my wife feel comfortable. The photographer was great and the prices were reasonable. You just need to be prepared to get to the Chankanaab location. We took a taxi from the port and it cost $10 pp each way. We would definitely recommend this excursion.

Awesome experience - We had an awesome experience here! I have been scuba diving before, however my girlfriend hasn’t and was nervous. Luis was able to teach her how to safely scuba and make her feel comfortable. Thanks for everything guys!

Love this place - The cruise ship came in late and they were still able to take us. Had a blast with my family. They were great with my kids. I loved hanging out afterwards at the location.

A night chill dive/beach day - Juan was our instructor for this experience. We were met and the very front entrance to the park by the staff and walked straight back to the shop on the beach. They were not in a rush and lockers were provided until 3pm. Lounge chairs, beds and papas were all free. Bring towels. They were only available for rent. We could have used their snorkel gear afterwards if we wanted but we chose to enjoy the beach. Juan was personable and very reassuring and gave very clear instructions for us beginners. We dove to about 24 feet and he pointed out various fish and other critters and objects. We saw lobster, an eel, and lots of fish. The area the dive takes place is protected and not in the middle of the ocean.. The park overall was sparsely attended and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Servers at the nearby bar/restaurant were friendly and the food we ate there for lunch was great. There were gardens to walk in and a sea lion show that was cute and short. The beach faces east and we werent

Great dive spot including a cave!! Location has a lot to do for free. - What a great experience and value!! We had to find our way there on our own. About $5/person each way in cab. The location is a large area that has free shows, botanical gardens, restaurants, bars, beach chairs with umbrellas and much more.
Our tour included some on land instruction then about and hour dive including THROUGH A CAVE!!! The guides were always right there checking on us and showing us so many cool things like conch and shrimps to hold. They also take pictures during and you can buy them.
After the dive they give you a free drink and it also includes free tequila tasting!!
You could spend a whole day just at this location. I don’t know what it cost to just get into the park area, but I would recommend bringing friends or family that are not diving with you and they can enjoy the area while you are diving.
Highly recommend Juan and his team!!

Highly Recommend! - I booked this tour with MJs Dive shop for our recent cruise stop in Cozumel. I am a certified diver, but it has been a few years since I have dove, so I wanted to knock off the rust. I also wanted my 14 year old daughter and my wife to experience diving. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience diving for the first time in a very safe and enjoyable manner. The dive master gave a very thorough safety and instructional briefing. My wife and and daughter were both pretty nervous, but once we got in the water, the instructors spent some time in the shallow area to get everyone comfortable. We had 3 instructors/assistants with our group of 8. One member of our group started to panic in the shallow area, and they worked with him to the point where he announced what a great time he had after the dive. My wife was having trouble submerging, and they worked with her and got her squared away. My daughter was having trouble popping her ears to equalize the pressure, same thing an assistant stayed with her and worked through it under water. We went down to a depth of 25 feet on a beautiful reef. We saw a ray, numerous fish and a lobster. The dive was about 35 minutes long, and everyone loved it. I cannot emphasize enough how terrific the staff was working new divers and allowing everyone a safe and enjoyable experience. The final verdict, my wife was glad she tried it but probably wouldn't pursue it any further, and my 14 year old really wants to get certified. Chankanaab is a wonderful place to spend the day after the dive.

10/10 Recommend - We booked our scuba experience for the 2nd time with this company. This time, we planned ahead. It included entrance to the park, free tours, free snorkeling, free lockers, and a free drink afterwards. The crew went through the training and made sure the family's equipment functions properly. Two divers and a photographer went out with our group of 7. We had two new divers in our group - one was a little panicked but they took great care with her. The pics turned out fun and cost $10 per pic or $60 for all of them digitally. It's a short, easy dive with a couple of statues to see. Highly recommend for beginners.

We saw a spotted moray... - We saw a spotted moray eel, 4 barracudas, red snapper, spiny lobsters and spotted rays and tons of colorful fish. At the end of our dive was a AWESOME swim through cave. Overall it was a fun easy dive! Great way to get into scuba or get back into it after a year or so. Drop my review 1 star because the bc’s inflator button kept sticking, making me ascend several rums. However, the dive master was right there with extra weights.
