Great custom 1/2 day tour - After some difficulties finding our way out of the shopping area immediately off the ship, we easily found our tour operator, Johnny. We specified no beaches and no shopping. Johnny honor3d our request. He took us to a chocolate and tortilla demonstration. Then we stopped for an authentic Mexican lunch followed by a tequila demonstration. We finished up at the Cozumel Museum. We were back to the ship with plenty of time to spare! A wonderful day!

See More than the Tourist Areas - Must Do Tour - Terrific tour guide. It was wonderful to explore more of the island. The Lighthouse views were stunning. The meal and freetime to snorkel were just right.

Great tour with Diego! - Diego showed up promptly and allowed us to modify our iteniery which was great. We started off visiting a cenote the followed with snorkeling at a fantastic beach where we saw lots of colorful fish, starfish and more. Then we headed to the lighthouse and museum. Afterward we visited the lagoon and spotted two crocodiles one of whom must have been 12 feet long at least. Then we drove around the south tip and east side of the island and back towards the north where we had a nice lunch and then back to our hotel. Overall the tour and Diego our tour guide were great and we would definitely recommend it!

Worth it! But Pack Snacks. - This was a lot of fun. Our tour guide let my fiancé drive a bit, too. Which was nice. The food that was included could have been better (quantity was not enough) but otherwise, it was super!

Great way to see the island in 5 hours - The most memorable part of the trip was having a tour guide named Adriana. She is personable and accommodating.

Sadly, the worse tour on Viator to Date - I've booked tours on Viator for years. This tour, however, makes me reconsider booking another one through Viator. How well does Viator vet its tour operators? Sadly, the "Custom Private Cozumel Jeep Tour: All-Inclusive Tour" was neither "Custom" nor "All-Inclusive." 1) Although the description on Viator's website presented a list of options or possibilities, it needed to be clarified when we would customize our experience. Before leaving the U.S., I contacted the tour operator to ask for clarification but never received one. Once onsite, I tried to ask for details, but our "guide" gave us no advice as to what experiences we could customize. He merely presented an itinerary he intended to follow. 2) The guide-driver included some experiences on the list, but he also [unexpectedly] offered a stop at a "theme park" that presented a "cultural experience." In fairness, he explained that this stop was an option that would cost extra. Typically, we don't mind paying extra for unique experiences, but we couldn't help but feel a bait-and-switch tactic. After all, it's in the tour's title: "all-inclusive." 3) Incidentally, we were given our guide's name, description, and where we would meet before arriving at Cozumel, but our guide was different and presented himself as less than personable. He offered minimal insights into Cozumel (we visited in the early 1990s) and seemed as if he wanted to finish the job [of touring us around the island] as quickly as possible. 4) The Jeep was old and questionable in terms of reliability. Additionally, because I stepped in and out of the jeep constantly all day (which I've done on other tours without incident), I hurt my back, which took months of therapy to fix after returning home. It would've helped if the driver/company offered a stepstool so I could safely hoist myself into and out of the vehicle. The above is a sliver of what I can offer to those considering this tour. Bottomline: Only book if the above descriptions of my experience do not bother you.

Save your money - I wouldn’t do this tour again. We added a sixth person a few days before, and it was not communicated. So when our guide arrived, he had to take three of us in his car, and the rest of us drove oursleves in the tour Jeep back to retrieve another. We paid for a guided tour, however, once we got in our two jeeps, there was only one guide. So three of us didn’t get a guided tour at all. My husband drove and we just followed behind. The tequila, chocolate and tortilla tasting on site were different and fun. We did enjoy this and felt like it was a good experience. That was definitely a positive. Punta Sur was beautiful and we enjoyed seeing the lighthouse, etc. Again, it would’ve been a lot nicer if we had two tour guides, which is what we paid for, so we could actually have the benefit of learning about the places we were visiting. Nevertheless, I would’ve probably given three stars had it not been for Coco’s Beach Club because that place was a hard no for all of us, and we had people ranging from age 17 to 53. It was extremely crowded, dirty and so loud it was impossible to hear anything. A tiny pool was in the middle of the restaurant area so there was no getting away from it. There was no way we were staying there. So even though we had paid for lunch, which was included in the tour, we had the guide take us somewhere else. We then had to pay $20/each just to enter then pay for our own meal. Our tour guide was friendly enough and seemed like a nice guy. However, we could have rented a car and done the same thing for a fraction of what we paid for the tour. I can certainly see why this would be appealing if you’re only in Cozumel for a day coming off of a cruise, but I would really do my research and see what else is available prior to booking this. If you are like us and staying on Cozumel, I would just rent a car and do my own thing. We definitely will next time!
