Amazing tour - The tour was amazing! We got to explore and see so many beautiful places. The tour guide spoke both English and Spanish so everyone understood the history he was talking about. Highly recommend.

Moon valley - alternative tour - Poor weather conditions closed the moon valley park (part of the intrigue of a desert vacation is its unpredictability) so I took the alternative tour offered by the company. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the atacama region's history and geology, it was a pleasure learning from him! He gave us great travel tips for the area and took us to an unforgettable spot to watch the sunset as a close to our tour.

Life changing - Phillipe was our tour guide and we had the MOST amazing time. This was the hilihht of our time in Chile. I wish we had been able to stay longer in Atacama. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about the Atacama desert. Truly life changing.

Great intro to the area's landscapes - Definitely worth it, but the sunset isn't quite as worth staying around for as the rest of the tour. Enjoyed seeing the beautiful vistas and moon dust sand dunes. Felt like the sunset was nice but extended the tour for the sake of extending it rather than enjoying the star of the show which was the valley and dunes themselves.

Nice, but unfortunately not enough time - We liked the Moon Valley itself and the plateau for the sunset. The landscape is rugged and beautiful. Our driver and guide kept the group attentive with his humor. However, this tour is very tightly timed and you only have a little time at each stop. This was particularly unfortunate in the area where you can hear the cracking of the salt mountains and at sunset. As soon as the sun disappeared behind the mountain, the area was cleared. The actual sunset, which colors the landscape so beautifully, could only be guessed at from the car. So the trip left us with a very mixed impression.

Parks without a Tour - All of the parks and reserves around San Pedro have entrance fees. You must get your tickets online and before you go. Try to do this in an area with good internet as many places in the area have poor connectivity. They have many choices of prices (age sensitive). We were told that you could only pay online, but after being unable to do so we set out anyway and were able to pay with credit card and help from the entrance attendant. Normally they do not like to do this but you can try to insist. They only accept cards, not cash, in our case. Do your homework ahead of time. And always carry a lot of water. All places provide bathrooms.
