- Iglesia de Socaire - Socaire is a town located 86 kilometers from San Pedro de Atacama, in the second Region of Antofagasta, at 3,500 meters above sea level.
It is the last Chilean town on the CH-23 route to Argentina, via the Sico Pass.
Famous for its small windowless houses, the main historical heritage of Socaire is the old church, showcasing artistic religious themes with works from the colonial period. Its bell tower is constructed from stone.
- Laguna Chaxa - Situated in the Salar de Atacama, Chaxa lagoon is a popular tourist destination and an ornithological observation site. It is known for being an altiplano lagoon with muddy layers and shallow depth.
It is part of the Wildlife Protection System of CONAF and is within the National Reserve Los Flamencos. It is considered one of the best places in Chile to observe flamingos, as the lagoon supports the growth of microinvertebrates and microscopic organisms, which form the diet of flamingos and other birds.
- Cementerio de Toconao - The town is part of the commune of San Pedro de Atacama and is located at 2,475 meters above sea level.
The name Toconao means “place of stones,” derived from the Kunza words “tocknar,” meaning stone, and “ao,” meaning place.
Based on hypotheses and scientific data, the ancestral area of Toconao has evidence of human life dating back more than 12,000 years, with traces of human development exceeding 10,000 years in the Lickanantai high sectors.
