It’s a barren land, a testament to a unique geological formation. Our forefathers named it Las Salinas, but nowadays, it is globally recognized as Valle de la Luna, encircled with distinctively beautiful landscapes that bear a striking similarity to a small piece of the lunar surface, hence the name. In 1982, it was categorized as a Nature Sanctuary, forming a part of Los Flamencos National Reserve where an incredible geological display can be witnessed particularly during sunrise and sunset.
During your trip, you can marvel at: the iconic natural structure once referred by our ancestors as Los Tres Watchmen, now referred to as Las Tres Marías, Duna Mayor, a sprawling mound of sand, and viewpoints like; Quebrada Honda which houses the renowned Piedra del Coyote (Mirador de Ckari).
