Awesome experience! Snacks at end were delicious - Diones, our guide, found an owl, crocodile, 2 kinds of toucans, iguanas, numerous kinds of birds, two set of howler monkeys and more. It was a great float!

Great guides and wildlife spotting! Relaxing and fun! - This was our favorite experience of our trip to La Fortuna! The guides were fantastic, and the river experience was unmatched. We saw so much wildlife, including birds, bats, lizards, crocodiles, and monkeys. The rafting experience isn’t challenging, as the river is calm, but do expect to help your guides paddle! You won’t get soaked head-to-toe, but you won’t be able to have extraneous stuff with you on the raft or be able to use your hands much. We each had a small backpack or fanny pack that fit under our life vests. The float was in full sun at times and is about 2 hours long. Sunscreen is essential!
Thanks to our guide, Orlando, we learned about all the wildlife we spotted and were taken care of from start to finish.
Small snack, coffee, water, and tea are available at the end. They also have a small cacao demonstration, which we loved.
Our driver, Alonso, even stopped in the city center afterwards to drop us off near a restaurant we were planning to try. That flexibility in drop off was so appreciated, and definitely not a given, so we loved the attention to detail and support of our itinerary!

Wonderful wildlife and great guide - This was a fun and educational river float. We were shuttled from the tour office to the site where the rafts are put into the water. All gear is provided and note that you can bring your cellphone without it getting wet (your feet and butt might get wet only). The guides did a great job of controlling the rafts while also pointing out wildlife like monkeys, iguanas, birds, crocodiles (no swimming!), and more. At the end there is a little food and drink experience, and a very short presentation about chocolate (not at the level of going on a chocolate farm tour). This tour was worth the price.

We did the river tour on... - We did the river tour on our first day of vacation, and we saw all the animals in those two hours that we had hoped to see our entire trip. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and could answer everyone’s questions. He was able to point out so many animals that we would have missed on our own. If you’re looking for a relaxing float down the river to see many different animals, this is definitely the tour for you!

Excellent way to spend a morning in Costa Rica - The tour is a leisurely two hour float over on the slow jungle river on a six person raft ( you will be dry but some water will slosh at the bottom so wear flip flops or water shoes vs sneakers. In general the nature guides in Costa Rica are excellent naturalist and storytellers, and our guide Paolo was exceptional. Not a boring moment on the raft. The stars of the show in our cases were howler monkeys and tiny “blue-jean” poison arrow frogs, but of course we saw a lot of other creatures, from birds to bats. On thé practical side: only a few mosquitoes; and take the first tour in am when the animals are more active.

Must do tour in La Fortuna. Enjoyed the peaceful ride down the river. Saw lots of animals. - We booked ahead and scheduled an 8a pickup at their downtown office. If you choose that option, arrive early so you can find it and figure out where to park. The storefront is not well marked. Parking is behind the office. The van picked us up right on time.
There were 3 personnel: the driver and two guides. They were all very friendly. On the drive over, we received a briefing on what to expect and some of the local sights were pointed out. The ride took about 30 minutes to get there.
When we arrived, everyone had time to go to the bathroom while they got the boats ready. They were quick to do so. We were fitted with life jackets and then we were on our way! They gave us all water bottles, too. We had 5 people on our boat plus our guide, Diego. He was awesome! The river was not crowded at all. The two boats from our company and the one boat from another company were separated enough that you rarely saw them. It felt like we were the only ones on the river. We saw a lot of animals - monkeys, iguanas, sloths, and birds. Diego was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We had a nice camera so he put us in the front so we could get the best pictures.
We spent about 90 minutes or so on the water. When we arrived at the end point, there was a restaurant that gave us drinks (juice or coffee), yucca bread, fried plantains, and local cheese. This was included in the price of the trip. Guides got everything cleaned up while we relaxed, ate, and watched the local birds.
This was a great experience - one of our favorite tours in Costa Rica.
