We had a great experience... - We had a great experience floating down the river. Our guide was knowledgeable and was able to point out many local plants and animals. We loved watching the monkeys eating and playing in the trees above us!

Must do tour in La Fortuna. Enjoyed the peaceful ride down the river. Saw lots of animals. - We booked ahead and scheduled an 8a pickup at their downtown office. If you choose that option, arrive early so you can find it and figure out where to park. The storefront is not well marked. Parking is behind the office. The van picked us up right on time. There were 3 personnel: the driver and two guides. They were all very friendly. On the drive over, we received a briefing on what to expect and some of the local sights were pointed out. The ride took about 30 minutes to get there. When we arrived, everyone had time to go to the bathroom while they got the boats ready. They were quick to do so. We were fitted with life jackets and then we were on our way! They gave us all water bottles, too. We had 5 people on our boat plus our guide, Diego. He was awesome! The river was not crowded at all. The two boats from our company and the one boat from another company were separated enough that you rarely saw them. It felt like we were the only ones on the river. We saw a lot of animals - monkeys, iguanas, sloths, and birds. Diego was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We had a nice camera so he put us in the front so we could get the best pictures. We spent about 90 minutes or so on the water. When we arrived at the end point, there was a restaurant that gave us drinks (juice or coffee), yucca bread, fried plantains, and local cheese. This was included in the price of the trip. Guides got everything cleaned up while we relaxed, ate, and watched the local birds. This was a great experience - one of our favorite tours in Costa Rica.

Beautifully peaceful! - A peaceful afternoon in the rain forest. Complete with a variety of bird sightings, a few monkeys, the green colored calm waters and even a rain shower! We were treated to a stop at a local cafe with delicious fresh juice, homemade banana bread and a resident monkey. A must do activity!

A perfect, easy way to see and learn a lot about Costa Rican nature - I was expecting a lazy float trip down the middle of the river, taking our chances of what we might see. Yes, the trip is lazy (no padding by our four person group), but we were often at the side of the river spending 5-10 minutes looking at the sloths, monkeys, and birds that our expert guide found. The trip length could have been shorter if not for these stops, but our guide was in no hurry to rush us down stream. In addition, we learned a lot about the river system, plants and trees, and animals we didn't see. If you are wondering if a safari float trip will be a boring 2-3 hour tour, ours was certainly not!

Best way to see monkeys and sloths! - This is a MUST if you want to see wildlife! You go slowly to really take in the sights and find the animals. Once the guide spots something, they pull the raft over so you can watch. We saw sooo many monkeys and sloths and iguanas it was perfect! Our guide ( I think it was Diego I don’t remember :( ) even brought a high-powered scope and binoculars for us to really get to see the animals in great detail! He would use my phone to take so many amazing up-close pictures using the scope, I would have never gotten such amazing pictures otherwise!

Great Trip from Beginning to End - From beginning to end, it was terrific. Excellent informative guide. The six of us (friends went on the 8:00 trip on one raft with a guide. Saw so many different kinds of birds, a sloth, four troops of moneys, even a caiman crocodile. Nice slow drift down river allowed us to enjoy all the sights and learn about the river and habitat. Including tip about $100pp but it was honestly well worth it and highly recommend it. Oh, and terrific refreshments and local tapas at the end.

Excellent; Knowledgeable Guides - This is an easy going way to see amazing wildlife and the jungle. Our guide was very knowledgeable who knew the river like the back of his hand, and showed us very well camouflaged animals that we would not otherwise have seen. We saw 3 families of monkeys!! They also stopped on the car ride back to show us a sloth in the trees that they had spotted. Above and beyond. Highly recommend.

Great river voyage! - This excursion was wonderful. It rained the entire trip down the river and yet it didn't bother us one bit -- in fact, it made the whole experience feel even more wonderous. Our guide Dionis was outstanding. He was friendly and knowledgeable, spoke perfect English and had a real knack for finding wildlife we would have never noticed - monkeys, a sloth, bats, a porcupine, an owl and others. Request Dionis!
