Amazing experience. Our tour guide, Daniel, was great! - We rode together as a family, and it was such a great experience. Our tour guide, Daniel (Danny), paired us each with horses that were perfect for us. He was very knowledgeable about each horse's personality and took great care in explaining what to expect. My kids really loved it and had no problems riding. The horses were all very well behaved and trained. Daniel was also great at spotting animals for us to take pictures. Then the waterfall was epic! It was the perfect break - ride horses to the waterfall, take a short break and take in the views with a refreshing swim, then ride the horses back. Be prepared for a fairly steep hike back up from the waterfall. We were pretty winded, but it was so worth it. Take breaks coming back up if you have to, but don't miss it - it's such a beautiful view. So glad we booked this adventure, it was the highlight of our trip!

Wonderful way to experience the rainforest and waterfall! - I had such a great experience! The tour guide I had (I am so sad I forgot his name but I know he’s been doing the tour for 13 years) was so kind and informative and had a true passion for his profession. He took his time to stop and point out all of the wildlife and took videos for me of the monkeys! You also get to cross suspension bridges through the rain forest during the walking portion. It is definitely a bit of a hike to the waterfall which I enjoyed but might be challenging for some, but overall definitely a great experience for a very reasonable price!

Great time! - Danny took us out on Morrena and Goliath. He was so fun to hang out with, was very knowledgeable, and made the whole experience such a great time! The horses were easy to ride, the waterfall was beautiful but you definitely have to earn it because of the “500 steps” down and back up. The company was great to work with, I would recommend them!

A great experience - Loved this trip. The horses were gorgeous and looked healthy and happy which was great to see. We had Daniel and another guide (think Christophe?). They were both kind and friendly and we felt in safe hands. It was a fab trek through the forest to the waterfall. The steps to the waterfall were a bit challenging but the waterfall was definitely worth the trek. A great experience which we won’t forget. Thank you

Entire family loved the horseback riding - We had an incredible time with Danny! We arrived in La Fortuna mid morning with no plans and decided to try to catch an afternoon horseback ride. The hotel recommended Arenal Mundo Adventura and they were able to accompany us on short notice. Thirty minutes after calling, the shuttle arrived to pick us up and take us to the stables. It was lightly raining when we left the hotel, raining when we left the stables and POURING during the ride. Despite that, we had a fantastic time. My 8yo and 10yo were so happy to get to ride their own horses and by the end were scheming how to get them back to California. We rode 45mins up to the waterfall, left the horse and hiked the 400+ steps down to the river and then climbed over the rocks to the volcano. Danny was great, very personable, answered all our questions and was great with the girls. We highly recommend the horseback riding with Arenal Mundo Adventura.

Nice - Make sure to bring water shoes if you plan on getting in the water. Nice time! The guides are helpful. They will pickup from hotel, take you to the stable, and then you’ll ride through a very nice nature road and rarely see any cars. Then go into the waterfall (beware there are many stairs down and it’s harder going up the stairs). We had about 30 minutes at the waterfall (not including the time for the stairs) and we enjoyed for a quick trip. We had enough time to take some pics and take a quick dip and then came back to the river area where the guide was waiting for us to take us back over the stairs and after we got the horses again. They provide water and there is a station to use the bathroom/change between the horses and waterfall. If you want pictures at specific spots, let the guides know.

Great experience - Overall great experience. The waterfall portion of the trip was magical! Also, pickup from our hotel was very convenient. The listing advertised an option to buy lunch and a photo package, which there were not.

Challenging hike after the horseback ride - We took this tour and paid 3x more than the regular entrance to the La Fortuna waterfall. We assumed that the horseback ride will make the hike to the waterfall easier. We were so wrong. The horseback riding part was fun. But the hike to the waterfall was many times harder than the steps you take after buying the regular entrance for the waterfall. Also hike does not bring you directly to the waterfall. You have to go around and over the wet rocks to get to the actual waterfall. La Fortuna waterfall is gorgeous and the guide ended up rushing us since hike took long. If I had to do it again, I would take the regular entrance to the La Fortuna waterfall, without guide and spend as much time as swimming at the waterfall. Keep the horseback riding as a separate activity, if you are interested in horseback riding.
