Great way to spend a layover! - I had a long layover in San Salvador and am so glad I decided to do this tour! My guide, Alfredo, drove us to see the city plazas and then to the El Boqueron National Park to see the volcano. He always had great explanations for the things we were seeing and was very knowledgeable about the area. We even had time to stop to eat some pupusas before heading back to the airport, which were delicious! Thanks Alfredo for being such a great guide! I definitely recommend this if you have some time between your flights.

Great tour for a long layover! - The layover tour of the city and the Boquerón volcano is a wonderful experience. The company expedited our migrations paperwork (and saved us the $12 fee) and we were quickly out on tour. Our guide/driver Alfredo was excellent. We got to see the sights and I even got a great haircut for $2! The pupusas stopover at Olucuilta was a delicious end to an amazing day. My only suggestion would be to go to el Boquerón first, particularly on a Sunday morning, because later in the day it gets very busy.

Highly recommend this! - From the moment we landed, we were breezed through customs by the stopover tour folks. Our tour guide, Cesar quickly swooped us up right outside and took us straight to a strip of pupuserias where we were able to enjoy some of the traditional local food (yum) then onto El Boqueron, which was stunning, and down back into downtown San Salvador. A lively city with a lot of history and a lot of action! Id most definitely recommend this tour for anyone with an extended layover.

Great layover - The whole process to get us through immigration fast worked well. We met our driver/guide Irving as we exited and we were on our way. Spent the morning learning about the town and taking a short hike up the volcano.

Perfect Layover Tour - Took tour during six hour layover en route to Belize. Breezed through immigration and customs with assistance from the very friendly folks at the desk opposite Gate 6. Eduardo offered great insight on the history and current state of El Salvador, including his personal experiences. Managed to see everything listed in the description and a couple of additional sites without feeling rushed notwithstanding the time constraints. Would sign up again without hesitation.

San Salvador Layover Tour - Fantastic way to spend the when you have a long layover. Irving was my personal tour guide. He was knowledgeable engaging and fun! Their commitment to assisting you through customs/immigration was exactly as described. There was a long line and their team member at the airport took me right to the front of the line- no fees! San Salvador is rich in history and beauty. Wish I had more time!

Perfect for our layover! - This was the ideal tour for us during an eight-hour layover in San Salvador. Everyone was kind and helpful, but our guide was the one who made it amazing. I can't recall his name -- if you get him, he's the one with children living in Canada -- but he gave us so many special tips and thoughts about sites and life in El Salvador. The volcano tour was beautiful with such a different climate than the city and the tours of the churches were inspiring. Our guide's description of the sculptures in the Iglesia El Rosario made them that much more inspirational. We booked the tour that included food and drink, and the restaurant they took us to had very good food. We were able to try local dishes, and the horchata was excellent. I don't write reviews often, but I'm very pleased and honored to write this one. We had a wonderful time!

Unexpected beauty found in San Salvador! 4 hours of pure fun! - I came across some blog while searching for what to do during my layover in San Salvador and I came across the highly recommended Salvadorean Tours. I was very skeptical since my flight lands at 2pm and I need to be back at the airport at 6pm but it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise!!! I wanted to see the volcano and also the city and I did end up seeing both as well as squeezing an authentic pupusa meal in! Booking was a breeze, I literally emailed them 2 days before and they asked for my flight information as well as passport info to help me skip the immigration line. I thought the tour was a bit expensive at almost $100 a person (for 4 hours) but I was so glad i did the tour!!!!! We found the tour desk after we landed and they helped us with some paperwork. Someone led it through the immigration and our driver came by in 5 minutes to pick us up. The airport seems to be a little far from the city so we drove a good 40 minutes passing through delicious looking pupusa places and then finally we got closer to the city. We drove another 20 minutes with light rain and went up the mountain for the volcano. This was the most accessible volcano that I've ever been to! The national park had a very nice trail and within 10 minutes you can see the Volcano crater! our guide kept us on track with time as we stood in awe of the beauty this country has to offer. After the volcano we came down and drove back to the city for a brief 5 minutes. I guess there wasn't too much to see in the city? Well the volcano was well worth the trip anyways. On the way back we really wanted to taste the local pupusas so we stopped by the wonderful places right on the high way and ordered a whole bunch of pupusas. Our guide was kind and friendly, we really enjoyed the tour. He was appreciative of the tips as well. All in all we would recommend anyone with a layover in San Salvador to venture out and check out this beautiful country with this layover tour!

Full experience for El Salvador - The guide Alfredo was very kind and arranged our trip very well. We could stop by Starbucks for El Salvador origin coffee, and CVS for Salvadorean beer. He also introduced traditional Salvadorean food. We could enjoy El Salvador well for 5 hrs. Recommend him!
