- Pacaya - This is the only place you can book a horse for Pacaya. We arrive where your horse will be waiting dressed in the beautiful colors of Guatemala. Each horse has your own private cowboy guide (keeping you safe throughout the entire experience) Ride over lava rock to astounding views of 3 other volcanos arriving at the foot of Pacaya volcano. Here your private lava chef awaits you as you roast marshmallows on the hot pockets of the lava and your chef prepares a pizza to be cooked on the lava coals. This is luxury style as your host will prepare a brightly colored Mayan picnic with colorful cushions, blankets and wine service. If sunset tour is available (out of rainy season….) we stay while the sunsets then your cowboy guide leads you safely out in the dark, to your transportation back to Antigua. We are Soul Shine Horse Rescue so a portion of all tours go back to the horses and families. Please note we must have 2 people to do this tour- Please contact us if you are traveling solo and we will try to add you to a tour. We are in rainy season now so the ours will begin at 8:30 am to get the best possible views! We require 24 hours advance notice for bookings as this is a luxury tour.

You won't regret this! - Our guide Marlo was amazing. The pizza and marshmallows at the top, so good! We didn't get a sunset out of it because of clouds but I would still do it. It was stunning!

Don’t hesitate to try this! - Lovely experience from start to finish. Communication with Nikki was practically instantaneous and she provided tons of information about what to expect. Great conversation on the drive to the volcano after pickup at our hotel. Once we arrived, horses and cowboy guides were fabulous and made us (novice riders) very comfortable. Food was just perfect and we had so much fun staring at the sky with flashes of lightning and beautiful colorful clouds. The ride down just after dark was magical (glad we got some wine first or we probably would have been a little nervous, but the horses know what they are doing). All in all, an incredibly memorable experience that will be a favorite memory from Guatemala!

Pushing the limits - My wife and I were in Guatemala for some medical work and took a few days at the end to reach out and enjoy this wonderful country. I had never been on horseback and loved volcanoes. My wife had never been on a volcano but loves horses. We both agreed to stretch our limits and had a freakin’ blast. The ride was great, the cowboys and guide were professional and funny and the pizza and snacks were stellar. Would do again and can recommend.

The best exoerience!! - You will not regret going on this fabulous tour with amazing guides! I cannot think of a better way to experience this majestic land. Everyone was orofrsssional, plesant, and accommodating ensuring every moment of the experience was the absolute best!

Horse tour on a volcano with homemade pizza! - We had the best time at this once in a lifetime experience! We did this after a busy mission trip. You don’t have to have experience in riding a horse. The guides are so knowledgeable and helpful. Their friendly disposition makes the tour so enjoyable! The pizza and wine were delicious! A must visit!

Once in a lifetime experience - I cannot say enough good things about this experience. Top notch customer service from beginning to end. Niki was such a pleasure to work with. She accommodated me at the last minute as a solo traveler. As for the excursion itself, it was absolutely amazing. MarLo, Jimmy and the rest of the crew were so amazing and kind and made this a once in a lifetime experience. This was definitely on the pricey side for my budget but it was so worth it!

Must do magical experience Pacaya. - Here is your text with the spelling mistakes corrected:
I have to say this was a mesmerizing experience that anyone who visits Antigua should do. Nikki, Manuel, and cowboys were great to deal with. Initially, we were concerned about the horses as some companies don’t take proper care of the animals, but after speaking to Nikki and Manuel and seeing how healthy the horses look, our concerns were put to rest. Not only do they take great care of them, they are actually one of the few, if not the only, nonprofit organizations in the area that devote their time and resources to helping the horses in the area and adopting horses in need. That was the icing on the cake.
The view and the experience are one of a kind. This will apply to seasoned riders or first-timers. The scenery of the volcanoes/lava and surrounding mountains while you ride is second to none. My entire family loved it from my youngest 7-year-old daughter to my wife, who was initially concerned about the little one. But the horses were well-trained, and the cowboys were attentive and always making sure we were safe.
The food was excellent as well. If we had more time, we would do it again. That’s how magical this experience was.
Don’t leave Antigua without experiencing this. You will regret it.

Volcano ride is a must do! - Incredible! Good horses, amazing cowboys and unforgettable views of the volcano while eating the most delicious pizza! Niki planned my entire week in Guatemala and this ride was one of the highlights. This company is really great to work with and the guides go out of their way to make sure you're safe and enjoying your trip. I was a solo traveler and they made me feel like family.

Once in a lifetime horse experience - Wow what an amazing, once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. I cannot speak highly enough about this tour. I have loved horses my whole life and this tour was so unique. The guides and cowboys were attentive and entertaining. The views stunning. The pizza picnic absolutely delicious. The horses are well trained and you can see the love and dedication from everyone involved. I recommend this tour 💯!!!
