Sandakan Sep24 - We did not do an organised tour, we just had a taxi driver take us around and paid our own entrance fees, he was fantastic, you can definitely do all 3 in a day, If you go to the morning session at the Orangutan Park, and miss seeing the Larger ones in the wild, you can return for the afternoon session using the same ticket and give it another try, You will almost certainly see a sun bear, but the Rainforest Discovery park can really use up time if you are interested as there is a lot of walking options. Orang utan trip - It was an amazing day. The guide and the driver were both really good . We saw far more wildlife than we had expected

So much better than being part of a big tour group!! - So much better than a big tour group! Mr Ray sent us a msg the night before to confirm our flight and arrival time. We arrived at the airport, met him outside at our agreed meeting point and off we went. His car was clean, he was friendly and knowledgeable. We caught the early flight from KK, so had time to stop off at local bakery! They only took cash, which is something to consider if you want to go to the true local places, not all of the venues have an eftpos machine. It was cheap and delicious and so nice to hang with the locals. We got the the Orangutan Sanctuary before the tour buses, so also got the prime positions to view these beautiful animals. Two had little babies, they were very playful, it was wonderful to watch. We also saw the sun bears and got to buy our souvenirs at the gift shop. Tshirts were a bit on the small side but, they don’t take refunds or exchanges, so check the sizes. The rainforest centre and the viewing platforms were also worth the visit. Lots of bird photographers hoping for that special shot. Lunch was also delicious, a small buffet but, the food was great. We had some time to kill before our flight back so we went up the hill to a Buddhist temple. The views were amazing. Thank you so much Mr Rey, we had a wonderful time and hope to come again with the other half of our family!

Fabulous ! - Highlight of a one month trip in Malaysia and Indonesia! I did a round trip (via plane ) from Kota Kinabalu and Sandarkan in one day. Agus picked me up from the airport with our guide Azies. Azies was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He pointed out orangutan nests I never noticed. He is knowledgeable about plants , birds, monkeys , bears , really the entire ecosystem! It was fascinating to be right in front of orangutans in the wild , sun bears , proboscis monkeys as well as macaque monkeys and other animals. Both Azies and Agus are true professional ! Recommend doing proboscis monkey add on !

Very good - Very nice and good guide. Got to see a lot and the guide was knowledgeable. Good food. Good use of time in the various places. A lot of freedom to manage the time yourself.

worthwhile trip if you are in Sandakan - A good trip to understand the Rain Forest and spend time with Orangutan and Sun bear in captivity, but free roaming. The guide had knowledge about the park and its habitats. Lunch was fine. It was not a full day trip, but about 5 to 6 hours including lunch.

Disappointing. - Feeling like I was being stalked by a taxi driver (who had cancelled the previous days tour when we said that we wouldn’t use him because we had already booked. He then rocked up to the hotel to say he had done so now he would take us) he then turned up the next day to take us on this tour. I was really annoyed as I didn’t particularly like him and I didn’t like that he had taken it upon himself to dictate how we should spend our time in Sepilok. Even down to my travel arrangements, he was following me on Grab telling me that the taxi driver I had used didn’t have a good enough car for our journey and we should cancel and use him. The tour guide talked throughout the experience, we wanted an opportunity to see animals and that won’t happen when tour guides are constantly talking (we know this from other tours) it didn’t feel like a family day out at all. I felt that this particular taxi driver ruined our whole trip to Sepilok and we returned to kota Kinabalu early because of it. Eventually I had to block him on WhatsApp. He had taken my details from this company and proceeded to message me directly after a discussion in the taxi with my husband. We only realised when he said that he hadn’t given him my number. Finally, the tour ended at 12pm, all of it done in less than 4 hours. We were taken to a restaurant where it there was the same offer of food from the previous evenings offerings (just at a different place) of curried chicken, a fish dish and veg. I’m not looking for a host of offerings but to have a choice would be nice, especially as I have food allergies. He had to tell him over and over to just drop us in the city centre so that I can find something to eat, he just kept on telling me I can eat it, I was getting annoyed because I should be able to decide if I want to eat something or not rather than being a grateful animal served a plate of food he had offered up. He took us to the most inappropriate place, he just kept on telling me I can eat there and then go to that shop and he will drive. I just wanted to be away from him, I asked for the city centre and he took us to a market where people were just staring at us and laughing at us. We ordered another taxi who was shocked he actually dropped us off there. Worse time of my holiday. Had I known, I’d have just done it myself. It would have been cheaper, would have spent the time as a family and maybe had seen something we went to see.

Cancelled by the travel company - Travel agent cancelled the tour the day before with no explanation. They refunded the money but they still advertised the tour for the day I was supposed to go. I ended up going by myself with was a fraction of the cost.

Do not book here. - Tripadvisor should take down the advertisements of this company. Also our trip was cancelled the day before in the afternoon and the telephone number provided is a dead end. Better off taking a Grab and paying only a quarter of the price...

Cancelled with no explanation the day before! - Very disappointed. Our tour was cancelled at 3pm the day before, the morning of our trip. There was no explanation as to why! They said a refund would be sent, I am still waiting for it. We ended up paying a Grab driver for the day, (to take us, and bring us back to hotel) and we paid our individual entrance fees to the 3 places- Sepilok orangutan rehab centre, Borneo Sunbears and Rainforest discovery centre, and all together cost us a quarter (in Aus dollar) of what this company was going to cost. So it ended up better for us!
