• Casa Museu Cal Gerrer - The Casa Museu - Cal Gerrer is an old ceramics factory converted into a museum space, with a highly original Modernist-inspired façade. It has four exhibitions, three of them permanent: the history of the factory, which dates back to the mid-s. XIX; the life and work of the Cabanas-Alibau artist brothers; and a private collection of objects related to Marilyn Monroe that is unique in Europe. In addition, from its viewpoint it offers the best views of the Monastery of Sant Cugat.

The Cabanas Foundation was established to safeguard the “Cal Gerrer” edifice and promote the craftsmanship of the Arpí family ceramics, the Marilyn Monroe Archive, and the artistic creations of the Cabanas-Alibau siblings.

The main office of the Cabanes Foundation is situated in the former ceramics factory “Fábrica de Productes Cerámics de Arpí”, widely known as “Cal Gerrer”. This distinctive structure accommodates a space for rotating exhibitions and three for permanent ones.

The historic ceramics factory, now the sole ceramics house-factory throughout Spain, facilitates an understanding of ceramic goods crafted by Arpí artisans. Moreover, visitors can gain insights into the arts of the Cabanas-Alibau siblings, in addition to a compilation of Marilyn Monroe’s photographs and personal belongings, the location being the pioneer museum dedicated to the star.

A major feature of the museum is the observatory offering scenic perspectives of the Monastery and the Collserola mountain range.
