We kick off our stroll with a glimpse of the stunning, jagged northern shoreline. Our journey continues along the isolated rural trail where I’ll highlight various endemic flora and fauna, sharing local anecdotes, covering the historical aspects concerning gold, and introducing you to the local language, Papiamento. Reaching the northern sands, we might come across nesting sea turtles at the island’s most private, secluded beach. Our journey leads us to the renowned Conchi natural pool where we get to swim before the crowd from the jeeps arrive.
It’s a laid-back, undemanding walk through a lesser-known, remote area.
Our meeting point will be the Macdonald’s positioned in Sta. Cruz on route 4. Waiting for a maximum of 5 minutes, we then depart to our trail, an 8-minute car ride away. Do note, transportation isn’t covered.
