Setting Sail on Monterey Bay

The morning sun cast a golden hue over the Santa Cruz Wharf as I prepared to embark on a journey that promised intimate encounters with the ocean’s most majestic creatures. As a marine biologist, the allure of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary was irresistible. Known as the “Serengeti of the Sea,” this protected area is a haven for marine life, and I was eager to experience it firsthand.
