Here you will be sure to witness the amazing resident tropical fish species such as parrotfish, triggerfish, angelfish, and the famous puffers! Other frequently seen species include Spotted Eagle Rays, Blue Sea Stars, whales, dolphins, turtles, and many more! You will experience service like no other with tropical fruits, juices, burritos, cookies, water and beer. We will return to shore at 11 am having made memories that will last a lifetime.

Snorkeling is not only dedicated to incredible service, but also to protecting our waters so that future generations can continue to experience the underwater beauties. We are Green Fin certified and volunteer in citizen science projects for NOAA. Our knowledgeable staff will answer any questions as we explore the incredible underwater world.
Your purchase with us goes toward conserving the local reef systems as well as supporting local Costa Rican small business. Plus you will have a blast! You will observe sea turtles, many fish, dolphins, whales, manta rays, seabirds and local coral. After snorkeling you will enjoy our delicious snacks and refreshments, with the option of the famous “Beluga Jump” off the top of the boat! Finally, we will head back to the shore with amazing memories that will last forever.

Pura Vida Snorkeling
We will meet you on the shore 100 meters south of the marina. There is a set of stairs to access the beach. A local security guard will keep watch over all cars and appreciates any tips for the service. We can arrange transportation for an additional fee.

So much fun!! - Frank and Andy were the best. We had such a great time. Frank knows all about the area and Andy is a phenomenal diver. We had a blast.

Couldn't have been better - What a great trip! We spent about 1.5 hours in the water and saw thousand of fish and two octopus. Our guide and our captain were both terrific. Highly recommend this.

THE ONLY 1 START THEY HAVE IS FROM PEOPLE THAT DID NOT EVEN WENT ON THE TOUR! - This tour is fantastic, I had a wonderful time snorkeling with my family, the crew of Pura Vida Snorkeling is really nice, the boat is perfect for the activity and the snorkeling spots they go are very nice. I honestly recommend this company if you want to have a a great ocean adventure

Fantastic! - Frank and his mates were fantastic! We saw eels, octopus and tons of fish. The water was super clear plus he has yummy food and drinks. 5 stars

Great experience - Frank was super uncomplicated, friendly and organized. We had a fantastic experience! The snorkeling was super interesting and the two spots really lovely. We had the luck to see some animals but also without it would have been a very nice day. Kids jumped from the boat, we enjoyed delicious food and drinks. Absolutely can recommend this trip.

The tour that flakes on you then ghosts you - This seems like would’ve been an awesome tour if we actually got to do it. Unfortunately our guides never showed up, WITHOUT notice. No email, no call, no text. After trying to reach them like a desperate ex (called the # several times with no answer, texted via trip advisor) and waiting for 40 minutes we accepted that no one was going to show up. The most unprofessional tour I’ve ever booked. After looking at other reviews one can see they have no issue ditching their customers without notice. I almost cried when I realized we had just spent $90 (each) for nothing and we were missing out on what seemed like a great tour. I would NOT RECOMMEND booking this trip if you’re willing to risk not going on a snorkel tour at all. They do not mention anywhere that they need a group minimum to do the tour, so we were completely blindsided. Still in the process of trying to get refunded.

Disappointed - The tour operator canceled the tour at the last minute. There was nothing in their information with the TripAdvisor about needing a minimum of six people and, as such, we were able to make a reservation. We were emailed the night before the tour telling us that the tour had been cancelled after we had already been charged and the tour confirmed by TripAdvisor. At least we got a refund.

Trip was canceled due to overbooking and I was not notified in a timely manner. - My trip was canceled because apparently it was already fully booked when I booked it. I made plans to stay at an AirBNB in Tamarindo so that I could be at Flamingo Beach early in the morning. I didn’t get the message until evening. I was offered the chance to postpone the snorkeling trip a day or two, but by then I had to be in San Jose for dental appointment (and had my AirBNB in San Jose booked). I understand that a trip might have to be canceled due to weather conditions, but the app should not have allowed overbooking. Normally I’ma very flexible traveler but I am only in Costa Rica for a limited time, and I was very much inconvenienced and disappointed.

Miserable experience - We had a terrible experience. We booked the snorkeling excursion weeks ago. Received a confirmation. Waited with excitement for our adventure (Tues. 6/27). Showed up at the meeting point before 8am (the meeting time). And we’re told by another tour guide that our snorkeling boat ALREADY LEFT. No communication. Nothing. We called immediately and spoke with someone who told us the weather was supposed to be bad so they would rebook us for Thursday 6/29. We texted and emailed to confirm the rebooking. No response. Instead we received a refund which was not requested. We didn’t want money back- we wanted to go snorkeling!!! What a miserable experience and unprofessional company. We spent all day yesterday scrambling to find another snorkeling tour that wasn’t booked. Do not use this company.

No show - We signed up for this trip two days in advance and waited and waited for the boat to come pick us up at 8:00 a.m. . It never showed. We called and got nobody on the line so we went back to the hotel and they called. They were told that the trip was canceled because there wasn't enough people, yet they didn't try to contact us to let us know before we got there.
