Puno - Chivay - Hot Springs
Laguna Lagunillas - Prepare for an incredible Colca adventure! The team will pick you up between 6:00 and 6:20 am. The destination is Chivay, approximately 300 kilometers away. Along the journey, be captivated by the stunning high plateau landscape, adorned with picturesque bofedales, serene lagoons, and winding streams. Keep an eye out for fascinating mammals like vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas, as well as a diverse array of birds, including elegant flamingos and majestic huallatas!
Patahuasi - The exciting route includes remarkable points of interest, such as the crater of the extinct Chucura volcano and the impressive volcano viewpoint, featuring the iconic Misti volcano and the active Ubinas. From this vantage point, at an altitude of 4,910 meters, you can admire the magnificent Western Mountain Range in all its glory.
Chivay - Arrival in Chivay is expected around 1:00-1:30 pm, where a delicious buffet lunch awaits. Afterwards, guests will be escorted to their respective hotels in Chivay to settle in and prepare for a visit to the relaxing thermal baths “La Calera.” Enjoy a well-deserved rest before returning to Chivay at approximately 5:30 pm for a dinner show filled with folklore and local culinary delights. Guests will be active participants in this spectacle. After dinner and the show, it’s time to rest and get ready for the next day’s adventures.
Chivay - Colca Canyon - Condor Cross - Arequipa
Colca Canyon - Start the second day at 06:00 hours with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before heading to the impressive Cruz del Cóndor, the most iconic viewpoint of the Colca Canyon. Here, guests will have two hours of free time to marvel at the landscape and observe the majestic flight of the Andean condors. The largest flying bird in the world, the condor combines majesty with humility. Its black plumage contrasts with a necklace of white feathers around its neck, resembling a blanket of snow in the heights. The powerful and extensive wings are like sails that lift it towards the snowy peaks.
Mirador Cruz del Condor - Afterwards, the return to Chivay by bus will pass through charming Andean villages such as Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque. Admire the ancient agricultural terraces, fascinating archaeological remains, and narrow paths that wind through the Colca Canyon.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., enjoy a final buffet lunch in Chivay before beginning the return trip to Arequipa, with an expected arrival between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m., near the city’s iconic Plaza de Armas.
