Huatulco City Tour - We thoroughly enjoyed our Huatulco City private tour with Javier. He drove us around and showed us all of the scenic spots. He took us to see the lighthouse, Playa La Entrega and we got to see the famous wood carving of "Barbanegra". The highlight of the day was when he took us to a Mezcal tasting bar. We were able to taste several flavors of Mezcal as well as authentic hot chocolate. I was NOT brave enough to eat the "Chapulines" (grasshoppers). He also took us to see a factory store where workers use textile weaving machines to make beautiful tapestries and carpets. Interesting that the colors that are used are derived from different plants. We also saw the church in La Crececita where there is a mural painted on the ceiling of the Virgin Mary. We ended the tour by having lunch at a great spot that Javier recommended to us and we invited him to have lunch with us. What a wonderful day we had. Javier is a great tour guide!

Perfect tour - Great day and tour guide went out of his way to accommodate my 81 year old mother. Saw a lot without being rush. Could not fault this tour in any way. A MUST do!

Great guide and great views - Alberto was fantastic. No question was too silly, he knows so much history and biology, and he made it easy to fall in love with this place he loves. He also gave us an excellent dinner recommendation when we said we were looking for someplace vegetarian-friendly!

Alberto is a rock star! - Alberto was an amazing tour guide!! He picked us up from the airport and took us to our hotel. He took us on a walking tour of the city, a yacht tour of the bays and mud bath with local women. He's extremely knowledgeable and has a background in biology, so if you're a science nerd his knowledge will help you connect with the area, which I absolutely loved! We were in a group of 13 and were always comfortable and safe everywhere we went. I will absolutely be using Alberto and Homietours when we visit again!! Much as gracias Alberto!

Good tour - Good excursion. A little confusing at the beginning - some people were given red tags, others green, but we ended up on same van. Not sure what the different colors were meant to represent, and the rep said I’d didn’t matter. But once we started the tour, it was good. We covered a lot of areas, and guide was good.

Nice overview tour! - It was a decent tour. Raciel took us to many beauty spots and lookouts around Crucita and the marina area. He was a good tour guide. We went to two businesses in the town. One was a tourist shop that sold souvenirs and mescal. We were offered different mole sauces, corn chips, dried grasshoppers, and sample the mescal and/or hot chocolate. We were there too long, in my opinion. Then we went to another, higher level tourist shop which was, for me, much more interesting. We were shown a demonstration of the process of making the beautiful hand woven rugs of the region. She explained the use of the insect cochineal in making dye for the wool. Real works of art! Then, we were directed to walk around the town plaza square and meet him on the other side in approx 20 minutes. This also very interesting and felt safe. I wish we had spent more time at the plaza, but we did have time to visit the church briefly, but Mass was going on, so not possible to learn about the church at that time. Overall, it was a good tour and the van was very nice and air conditioned.

A good tour of a so-so town - There's just not that much to see in Huatulco. It's a manufactured vacation destination. Our guide did take us to see a neighborhood woman who gets by by making tortillas and a weaving shop where old fashioned looms are still used, plus a church and drive through the countryside. Ok, just not all that.

Not much to see in Huatulco - Not too much to see in Huatulco and the surrounding area. Ricardo, the driver and Manuel the guide, did their best to make the tour enjoyable. Of course, too much time was allotted for shopping.
