Minca-coffee tour- pozo Azul - On the day we did the tour it was just my boyfriend and I. We got picked up at our hotel outside town which was great since we did not have to go into town first. The driver ended up being our guide as well today because not many people had signed up so if this happens he is the guide and driver. His name was Oscar and he was wonderful. His English is limited and our Spanish is limited but we still worked it out. Technically we had booked this as an English tour but we got by OK so we do not have any complaints about this, just be aware that this possibly might happen if not enough people sign up. The coffee plantation tour was great. Very interesting even though it would’ve been fun to see a smaller plantation a bit less touristy than the Victoria coffee plantation but it seems all tour companies go to this one. the guided tour there was in English and the guide was very competent plus the coffee tasted great and the scenery was beautiful. Then we went to the water hole/small fall/small rapid- Pozo Azul. This part of the tour could’ve been skipped. It was very touristy with probably 100 people in and around the small water area and the trail there was filled with motorbikes and tourists. Mosquitoes and sandflies are everywhere. The best part of this short hike was the gorgeous bamboo surrounding the trail. We had lunch which was included add a local restaurant in Minca. The food was great service was great. No complaints. Again Oscar was fabulous. Really nice pleasant knowledgeable man.
