As you ascend the steps, your guide will assist you in identifying some of the unique tiles worth a closer examination. You’ll also learn about the historical origins of the Morro do Desterro, the St. Teresa Monastery constructed in 1750, and the old tramway’s history. Your exploration will also lead you past the Ruins Museum. Even without entering, you’ll get to hear some stories about it and view a mural by Joao Barbosa.
