A must for a trip to Madeira! - Nuno picked us up from our hotel and took us up into the mountains which was about an hours drive. When we got out of the car we were given torches and started our hike. I was wearing shorts which I wouldn’t recommend as it was cold at 5am at that altitude! The walk up was fantastic as there was a great view of the stars and you could see down to the nearest towns lights as we climbed up. Nuno was great allowing us to stop occasionally to catch our breath and take in some of the views. Once we got to the top we waited for the sunrise which was one of the most breathtaking things I have seen! To be above the clouds for sunrise is a must try for anyone of any age. On the way back we saw what we had actually climbed in the daylight which gave us a great sense of achievement and Nuno stopped to show us various plants and herbs that grew in the mountain. All in all it was a 10/10 trip and would highly recommend it to anyone!
