Highlights
  • O Grove - It is the cradle of the Rías Baixas, of seafood and Albarino wine. This stop with a sea view is used to enjoy the good food that the town offers. An hour and a half approximately to be able to eat.
  • Capilla de Nuestra Senora de La Lanzada - This mystical place, established in the 9th century, certainly deserves to be known in depth, accompanied by a nice walk. Its importance is not only related to its history, but its location must be taken into account, that is, on the shores of one of the most admirable beaches in Galicia. In all this, we cannot absolutely forget that this temple hosts and offers definitely popular moonlight rituals, which makes it even more unique in its kind.
  • Combarro - To arrive in this picturesque town, one of the most beautiful in Spain, located on the banks of the Ría de Pontevedra, we will cross part of the bay of Poio.

All this beauty is conferred on it by a giant rock on which it is built, by the granaries with which it is surrounded, by the houses that overlook the sea and by several typical Galician stone crosses, called “Cruceiros”, which are on the site.

Walking through the characteristic streets and squares of this place, therefore, one has the possibility of making a true and authentic journey through time, as well as visiting an area of great ecological value.

  • Isla de la Toja - This relaxing island, famous for its soap production and its thermal waters, is located in an area called « Red Natura 2000 », but it does not end here: we can find a small museum of the old soap factory and a fully covered chapel of shells.
  • Isla de la Toja - A tour over the sea, through which you will be able to admire and directly face the production of mussels, oysters and scallops; We will make different stops to be able to contemplate the troughs and then be able to taste a large quantity of steamed mussels accompanied by one of the best local wines and a good shot of Crema de Orujo.

You must do the boat trip - This was a nine hour trip which I loved from beginning to end. The journey was in a comfortable bus with a guide who spoke both Spanish and English. Two highlights for me. 1. The hour long boat trip from O Grove to see the mussel rafts. We navigated through at least 100 rafts, stopping at one where fresh mussels were harvested and brought on board for us to enjoy a feast. It was a fascinating trip. 2. Visit to the island of Toxa. Quaint little island with a church whose outside walls are completely covered in shells. Beautiful scenery in other places. Including the boat trip, I only paid just over £40!!!! Amazing price for an amazing day out. 😊

One of the best trips I’ve had - A fantastic day from start to end. Visit to the winery with wine tasting. A lovely family business growing the Albariño grapes. Then on to another visit to the soap factory area and a lovely church covered in sea shells. We went for the boat ride to see the mussel farms while eating unlimited mussels on the boat with unlimited wine. We even saw dolphins popping their heads up! Lucky to have sunny weather too. A stop for lunch then on to a delightful village called Combarra. The tour guide spoke perfect English and Spanish and was informative all day. Thank you. Thanks also to the driver of the minibus. A wonderful day out. Well worth it.

Exceptional / Super fun - Experiencing the wine and mussels was great. The ride with all the explanation of the process how the mussels are extracted an who owns them was fascinating. Highly recommended as well as the guide Ana and her contribution was excellent. People started dancing and having a fun time.

A Must for Seafood Lovers! - I had a great time! The bus was super comfy and luxurious (USB charging ports and all). The tour guide is bilingual and she is attentive to us English speakers, even there are only three of us! We stopped by many scenic spots that I otherwise would have discovered. The mussels were delicious! The crew made sure your table was never without mussels :)

Rías Baixas tour a little limited in time and information. - I would have liked to receive more information on the formation and the benefits of the “Rias” in the region and explore further the Rias in the boat. The trip was good but it tried to accomplish too much in a limited time; thus, not allowing to enjoy the visited towns at ease.
