• Catedral de Cuernavaca - Serving as the seat of the Catholic diocese of the same name in Mexico, this 16th-century structure is one of the country’s oldest cathedrals. Initially built as the Convent of the Assumption, it was the fifth Franciscan foundation in Mexico, established in 1525 by the first twelve Franciscan friars with assistance from a newly arrived group from Spain.
• Plaza de la Constitucion - Throughout the year, this plaza hosts exciting events such as science exhibitions, book fairs, and culinary showcases. The area is secure, with excellent dining options nearby. In December, it is beautifully adorned for Christmas.
• Palacio de Cortes - A 16th-century New Spain civil palace and historical monument located in Cuernavaca, Morelos (Mexico), commissioned by the Spaniard Hernán Cortés shortly after the conquest of Mexico. It served as his residence after living in Mexico City, where he settled the encomienda granted to him upon receiving the Marquisate of the Valley of Oaxaca. It closely resembles the Alcázar de Colón in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic).
