Highlights
  • Bernal - We are going to arrive at San Sebastián de Bernal, a magical town with artisanal traditions such as wool textiles, here we are going to visit some handlooms from the 17th century. Another product is bread filled with fruits, jams of different flavors, cheese and even coffee bread, quartz stones, since behind the rock there are mines of this material. This town was the last stronghold of Chichimecas in the territorial expansion and conquest of the Spanish, the last town before ascending to the Sierra Gorda, which is why it was important to dominate the silver road, but the imposing magic of the Peña de Bernal also It became an important ritual point for the natives and many nomadic tribes. Currently, SPA Hotels, Temazcal healing baths and gastronomy with cacti typical of the region are offered.
  • Bocanegra Cava de Quesos - Let’s take a deep dive into the ancient tradition of making fermented milk products, I’m talking about cheese. Since they come from almost the same time, cheese and wine have been companions since the time of the Egyptians. Here we will have the opportunity to talk to us about how they feed the cows to produce milk and then the manufacturing processes of the different types of cheese, from aged ones, those that contain wine, pepper and other spices to fresh cheeses and those that have been created with the amazing and extraordinary mixture of the maguey elixir, yes, I am talking about a cheese paste with tequila. You will taste, on a terrace with an impressive view, at least six different cheeses and of course with some wine from the region. Bocanegra is also already creating its own wine and we will be able to see its vineyard and its craft beer factory. All ready.
  • Vinedos Azteca - Well, we are in Mexico, in the region known as El Bajío, which we share with Guanajuato, Michoacán, the State of Mexico and Hidalgo. A prosperous agricultural, livestock and wine region is due to this. The charros and their traditions are also present. The vineyard is developed on a ranch breeding quarter horse and Aztec breed, it has its charro canvas (it’s like the cowboy rodeo in the US), and they have developed great wines with different varietals, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon and also rosés and whites with Xarel-lo, Macabeo, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. We are going to tour part of the property, the Charro canvas, the artificial lake overlooking the rock, the spa hotel where, if you decide to stay next time, you can request a complete treatment with massage after an immersion in warm wine as part of your stay. Finally, the guided tasting of two wines from their manufacture and a visit to the store if you want to bring something.
