I am now a Mezcal expert. JK. - What we expected and more! Pick up was on time. The van was comfortable. Balam, our guide/ driver, was an excellent navigator. The tour went the same as advertised, but what you experience is so much more. Balam started the tour with a quick background and short history of Oaxaca, its different valleys and regions; the history of mezcal, its difference from tequila, the industry in general, and the people who are involved in the process from farming agave to producing mezcal. Balam showed us his deep knowledge of mezcal, answering all our questions, and clarifying all misconceptions. We were never brought to any tourist trap, and he was never pushy when it came to us buying bottles. But that wasn't an issue because the tastings were enticing enough for us to buy bottles! We went home with a greater appreciation for and knowledge about mezcal and Oaxaca. I definitely would want my friends to be able to experience this tour.

Great hosts who made the day feel personal - We had great fun and learnt so much about the distillery from all of the hosts, having a range of visits really added to our understanding

Mezcal venture Oaxaca - My wife and I ended up booking this tour late on a Sunday for a Monday morning tour. We received a prompt response from the company regarding our preferences. We were informed that our guide was primarily a Spanish speaker. We decided to go ahead with the booking. Keep in mind that we worked on basic conversational Spanish before the trip. All stops for the tours have English guides. We were the only couple booked for the trip. Our driver/guide Daniel was awesome. We got to practice our Spanish with him. He also shared his background and gave us history on Oaxaca and Mexican culture during the drive. His music selection was excellent. The first stop for the Mezcal tour was the second top highlight of our trip to Oaxaca. The distillery tour and trip to the agave fields was beyond our expectations. We took mezcal shots in the field and jammed to Mexican music on the drive back. We also made a stop to taste local drinks made out of Agave plants. The second stop was similar but was primarily enjoyable giving that our second best meal in Oaxaca was served here. Daniel mentioned that the food was exceptional and it didn’t disappoint. Since we were a small group we requested to skip the 3rd stop. We had so much fun, but we wanted to do more in Oaxaca City. To wrap up. Book this company and get out of your comfort zone for primary English speakers.Daniel was the best guide/driver we encountered in Oaxaca. Please leave a review after your trips as well. We based our booking on the most recent review. It’s the least I can do after having such a great time.

Amazing adventure - This is an amazing tour and great value for money. This 8hour day trip allowed us to see the valleys and natural beauty that surrounds Oaxaca city and learn in detail about mezcal production and its ties to the local culture and community. We sampled a wide range of mezcal, from traditional family productions to larger distilleries. We also had a delicious lunch at a local market and visited Tule which is home to a 2000 yr old tree. Balam our tour guide was highly informative, very well organised and passionate about his subject. If you're visiting Oaxaca city this tour is a must.

Great Mezcal Tour! - Our driver Daniel was great. We were able to practice our Spanish with him. We arrived a little late to the Mezcal tour because he had to return to the city to pick up two more passengers after we were well on our way. It was not a big deal for us and not his fault. The tour still lasted about 8 hours. The mezcal factories you tour are fun and all three are slightly different. Plenty of delicious mezcal to drink. I did not care for the food that I ordered at the restaurant. The mole negro was way too sweet for my liking but maybe some like it that way but it was not for me. The tours were very interesting and the mezcal was top notch! All in all a great value and fun experience.

Disappointed! - Tour was cancelled the evening before. Very disappointing. It is like a lottery if the tour will take place or not. This cannot be the base for vaccation planning. I have been offered a completely different tour as an alternative. It is like you order ice cream in the restaurant, prepay it, and then they offer soup instead. Now, I am asked to get active to get my money back. What happens, if I do not get active? Whould they keep imy money as if they run the tour? Why don't refund automatically? Better look for alternative tour operators!
