Great to see snow - SNOW IN CHILE: for those who do not want to ski and want to see only snow, it is worth the panoramic tour that the agencies sell. In it you spend almost the whole day walking through the snow without having to enter the stations. The Farellones park is cool, but the perrengue of the queues is not worth a little, I think. Farellones seems to be more fun for kids.
This tour may be exhausting, but still worth it. The restaurant they stop at Farellones is not good and is quite expensive. Take your snack for the whole day.
CLOTHING: what is really needed is cold protection. Up there the cold is freezing. I recommend: thermal half and second half, thermal trousers underneath, thermal t-shirt underneath, a blouse and jacket on top, hat or ear protector and snow gloves.
Regarding the snow, if you are not skiing and you are not snowing on the day of the tour, a timberland style booth is already enough. If you need, just rent the boots. With tennis I find it complicated because it slips and wet. If snow is falling, it is important that your clothes are at least rain resistant.
If you're going to ski you need the full kit.
I saw a lot of people renting the full kit without having to. And worse, I haven't seen any guidance on this.
