Fascinating day, Valparaiso is not to be missed. Well organized, good communication. - A fascinating and fun day with Julio. A great, well informed guide who understands well the context of his explanations. Nice contemporary and historical aspects. Walking UNESCO neighborhoods IN Valparaiso was intriguing.
. Our trip coincided with a religious holiday, so the stop in Casablanca was a no go. We were informed the day before and had the option to cancel, but we went anyway. Traffic was seriously impacted along the major road between Santiago and Valparaiso which resulted in a more scenic and rural trip back. A bonus handled well by Julio

A wonderful day! - A wonderful overview of the valleys and areas between Santiago and the Pacific Ocean. Our first stop was at a large scale winery/grocery store/ cafe. We were concerned this was going to be the wine tasting portion of our tour but although we did get to taste wine, it was a glorified bathroom stop lol.
The tour of Valparaiso was incredible with our amazing guide Leo sharing lots of information and taking to some incredible sites. Lunch was as a delight as was the tour of Viña del Mar. our return to Santiago we stopped at an incredibly beautiful winery in the Casablanca valley. Had a great proper wine tasting and picked up a couple bottles. The day was jam packed but never felt rushed with ample time at each site. Leo was and incredible guide and after returning to the hotel and discussing with other travels about their Valparaiso tours through other companies….it seems like we had the best one. I would highly recommend it!

Colorful surprise - Our tour guide, Julio, took us on a very surprising and interesting walk on the streets of Valparaiso. I was very impressed of the "graffiti " art on the walls: so colorful and diverse. Also it was very unique to see the sea lions in Viña del Mar.

Great day trip - Our guide Julio was amazing. He picked us up in time and was friendly and knowledgeable. On the ride to Valparaiso he gave us some history and then took us on a great walking tour around town. We drove along the coast to see some beach towns, we had a nice lunch, and then had some time to be on the beach. We stopped at a cute winery on the way home. For those with a few days in Santiago and looking for a day trip
Out of town, I would recommend this.

Amazing tour with Julio - Loved the tour very much. Our guide Julio was very informative, and we learnt a lot about Chile and South America from him. He showed us a lot of places thoroughly, took very good care of us, and also took great pics of us. A group of lovely Colombians were also in our group, and made it very enjoyable. An excellent tour and I recommend this highly.

Lots of driving - not that much guiding - It’s around 4 hours of driving for the round trip. The driver/guide gave us some basic information- with short answers to questions if we asked about something. A nice man but his English wasn’t that good -so lots of quiet time. We would listen closely and figure out what he said. He didn't have much of a story to tell, a man of few words. Lunch (a la-carte) at the restaurant overlooking the Pacific was very nice. On the way back to Santiago we stopped at a beautiful winery. A woman came out, said “Hello”and placed two tasting glasses (red & white) on the front check-out counter between two busy cashiers. Then she said something (?) to our guide. She turned around & walked away, with no info about the winery or what we were tasting (other than red and white). The Wine Store was VERY busy with people trying to pay for their purchases, and we were caught in the middle of this, wrestling for counter space to grab our wine-tasting glasses. There were a few empty tasting rooms and counters nearby which would have made our experience in the winery much better. It would have been nice to learn about their wines and history of the winery. The grounds of the winery are beautiful - so we sat around outside 25-30 minutes until time to go. . We received a bottle of wine as a gift- that was NICE!

Booze Bus with a View - Valparaiso, the restaurant, Casablanca and the winery and Viña Del Mar were all beautiful. The tour itself was well organized and the driver, Alex, was exceptional. I met and became friends with others on the tour and we even went out to dinner that night in Santiago; however, the tour guide, Steve, made this tour a bit of a nightmare. Steve has a drug and alcohol problem. He was completely annihilated by lunch and not in a fun way. He made extremely inappropriate sexual comments to women both on his tour and in the community. Referring to women as dumb blondes, using masking tape with phone numbers on his body and the body of women to collect and give out phone numbers, and asking a young woman on the tour to remove her jacket wine could see more of her body after telling her she was the best looking woman on the tour. After the winery where our guide was visibly smoking weed, he asked participants to drink their bottles of wine they had purchased to take home after I offered him my own wine. He picked up a bottle at one point and drank the entire bottle of red wine. He became belligerent and was sweating on the way home. He used the f-bomb repeatedly throughout the tour starting in the early morning hours; however, his use of the racial slur N*gg*r is what sent us over the top. He began telling a story about how his family was exiled when he was younger and that he’s considered a criminal. He said he could use racial slurs because they were his right given free speech and that Americans were too uptight and should go home if they didn’t like it. While perhaps forgettable or forgiveable had it been just me, this behavior was grossly inappropriate on a tour of younger women and people of color. Steve took pictures throughout the entire tour with a professional camera and we were looking forward to his pictures; however, he never corresponded with anyone again after the trip and no one received pictures. I strongly recommend anyone who is assigned Steve as a tour guide to reconsider their decision. My heart breaks for this individual as I feel he is broken and needs help. Asking me to join in a party with drugs and drinking after the tour with “all the other tour guides” is probably not the offer Viator or this tour company would want to hear about. I wish Steve the best and hope he finds his way. If nothing else, this tour was memorable and one for the books after taking over 100 international day tours.
