Worth it! - Our tour guide Gabriela was amazing, very knowledgeable and switched from English to Spanish with no effort. Great driver too. The two places we went were very nice, a must stop when visiting Santander.

Great itinerary, great guide - I signed up for a tour in English and only discovered, at the moment I was picked up, that the rest of the group was monolingual Spanish so the whole tour would be in Spanish. My Spanish was not good enough to follow most of the narrative and there was no possible way for the guide to convey all the information in both languages. She was very obliging but the tour operator had put her in an impossible position. That being said, the itinerary was excellent (though an hour free time in Santillana was too much for a very rainy day). The Altamira “neocave” is well worth seeing and the guide had a lot to show and tell about it. She was obviously well informed and enthusiastic.

Keep the Altamira museum, skip Santillana Del Mar - The Altamira museum was wonderful. Except for the wonderful church, Santillana Del Mar was too “touristy” for me. The guide was excellent.

Parking bothered me - Too hierarchical for tourism, I was very upset to be charged in an open-air car park €2 and as soon as I got out of the car and down some steps there was free parking. The paying one told you the posters to get to it... and the free one not a single poster. It's fooling the long-suffering tourist. Of course I don’t do it for the 2€, it just annoys me to be branded a fool. Otherwise, the village very nice to go around and visit.
