Exhilarating Country Excursion! - This is a full day tour which takes you to the rural areas that were the former sugar cane plantations outside of Salvador. Ronaldo was our guide and gave a full explanation of the relevance of the area. Particularly interesting was the visit to the local market where we tasted different fruits and vegetables. We happened upon an impromptu capoeira ( African martial arts) in the market which was exciting. The colonial villages are unique and highly colorful in different hues. We went to a small African centered catholic church and museum which reflected the practices of Black female worshipers. We also visited one of the oldest cigar factories, and concluded our visit with a terrific lunch overlooking one of the most scenic river valley. I would highly recommend this tour to explore and understand the rich Black cultural history of Bahia. Be sure to ask for Ronaldo!

Unforgettable experience - Incredible and touching experience, passing through historic places and impressive landscapes! Guide Wilson is a charming professional, who provides us with a lot of information, in a light and interesting way. And the driver Fabio was wonderful too, as well as a serious and careful professional. Lunch at the farm is a unique experience, with wonderful food, attentive service and an unparalleled view! Each attraction is worth it and is an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this tour!

Lucky if you get Wilson as your tour guide :) - This was by far the best tour guide we have had in our travels. Wilson is extremely knowledgeable, patient, understanding and kind. He is high-spirited and certainly brightened up our day. We learned so much! Our driver, Fabio was the perfect compliment! Lunch at Santa Cruz was amazing. Delicious food made with all natural ingredients, a beautiful view and fantastic service. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is up to have a lovely day and learn interesting historical facts. Not to mention it is very difficult to get a tour in any other language that is not Portuguese, and Wilson speaks English and Spanish perfectly. Thank you guys for an awesome day in Salvador!

Experience the region outside of Salvador! - It was great to out to see the countryside and historic towns of Cachoeira and Santo Amaro. Our guide Misael was very knowledgeable on many topics so we had good conversations. Our driver was excellent too! Lunch at the fazenda, a walk through a market, and the cigar factory visit were highlights.

Marcos KNOWS - I'm really glad I took this day trip from Salvador to the Recôncavo area, which gave our small group (3 people) a rare insight into the history and culture of Brazil, and the conflicted mix of races, religions, classes that still informs its society. Marcos, our brilliant guide, was fluent in English and, since he grew up in the Pelourinho (back when it was not a recommendable place ...) and part of his family is from the Recôncavo, was able to talk from his own experience and offer a wealth of first-hand information that we would otherwise have missed. But this pleasant tour is not "only" about culture and history: just to mention one thing, you can expect a delicious meal in an elegant fazenda overlooking San Féliz and Cachoeira!
