It's a 2 hour drive to... - It's a 2 hour drive to Sto. Domingo one-way, it's almost a 12 hour tour so prepare to spend the rest of the day on the road. Worth going if it's your first time in DR.

Longer than expected.... - Longer than expected. Staff was great though very knowledgeable tour was provided in multiple languages. Your is more culture and history not much time spent in the locations and no true activities if your looking forward to a swim. Mostly for hop on and off to take photos but still great experience.

Long day on the road for a 4.5 hour tour . - The trip was not the worst, but it definitely did not meet my expectations. First and foremost, we were warned that it would be a 4-hour round trip, but keep in mind that they also have to pick up other people from different resorts. That being said, we were picked up at 7 AM but didn't get to Santo Domingo until 11 AM. Once on the tour, my only two complaints are that the tour guide was tasked with doing the tour in two languages, which he managed to do a decent job of, but my biggest complaint is that the time management was horrible. We ended up waiting for people at gift shops that we were highly encouraged to purchase from. I can fault the tourists who took their time, but more so the guide for not accommodating the rest of the group, as all we did several times was just wait for people. The food at the buffet was good, and the tour itself is not bad for what you get, but it was only from 11 AM to 3:30 PM, which included the buffet. This means you do a 4.5-hour tour that plus an 8-hour ride to and from Punta Cana. Just be prepared for a long day on the road.

Below average, lots of patience needed - Unfortunately, the other bad reviews are pretty on par. I read them but was still hopeful. Turned out I should not have been so hopeful. After being picked up in the am about 15-20mins late (8:05), we then went to a big gas station where we waited for about 45mins for the bus to fill up with others before finally leaving. Our first stop was a bathroom about 10mins outside of Santo Domingo. The bathroom was inside a souvenir shop, where we must have waited at least 30mins. By the time we finally made it to Santo Domingo, we were told there was too much traffic in the center, so we would be having lunch before going to the old part of town. I suppose lunch was typical Dominican food - rice, beans, chicken, salad. We were pretty hungry, but the restaurant limited each person to one piece of chicken. Despite asking for more, they would not give my husband any more chicken. There was some fruit, but by the time we made it through the line, there was hardly any left, and what was there smelled rotten. The tour says it provides water, although do not expect any bottles of water. The only drinks provided were at this restaurant - the regular “fruit juices” that are made from mixed, and water only if you ask for it. We finally started walking through the city, which was fine. But then we stopped in yet another souvenir store, where we must have waited for at least 45mins (felt like FOREVER). We finally continued walking to see the rest of the small area we were covering, which was fine. At the end of the day, we went to tres ojos, which seems like a cool place, but we were there as it was closing, so had to rush through and were not able to see everything. As a note, the typical guide hands you off to a guide from tree ojos, whom they heavily encourage you to tip. Overall, can’t say I recommend this. Way too much time spent waiting, which translated into rushing through the actual sites and not having enough time. It also makes for a very long day, even though a majority of it is spend on the bus. Also, keep in mind, this is basically a 12-hr tour and the only food provided is lunch- highly recommend bringing snacks!

Not professional timers - The driver good to do the driving but 10 minute’s break time makes 30 minutes . We started the journey 7.45 am and back 8.15 pm supposed to be 5.30 so not programming driving time and the tour guide is same ways. Should monitor the passengers but he directs them to go and see but he stands lasting so whole time passenger has no timing control so not professional manner and he is not able to do the work.

Long day and unnecessary stops - It was far too long and lots of unnecessary stops. The time went way over and did not get back to the hotel until late in the evening so over 12 hours and then had to change buses to get back to the hotel.

Tourists Beware - Terrible experience! This tour felt unsafe!! TOURISTS BEWARE. We booked an English tour. We were picked up by a driver who was unable to communicate with us. He drove for an hour picking up other people at resorts and on the side of the road. Then he took us to a gas station and left us on the bus for 20-30 minutes with no instructions or communication. I finally got off the bus and went to speak with someone in broken Spanish and was only told to get back on the bus. Sometime later, someone who also didn’t speak English gestured for us to get off the bus and get on another bus. Nobody spoke English or was able to communicate with us on the second bus. For over 3 hours we were driven around with no communication or understanding of what was happening. Outside of Santo Domingo a tour guide joined who was able to communicate. The tour improved from there.

Don't waste your time and money on this tour! - sorry to say this was the worst tour ever!. It was a long day and so BORING. We felt we wasted not only the money but the whole day. Nothing about this tour was interesting. The half day punta cana small group tour was much better than this one. Don't waste your money and time.
