Cuevas del Pomier - From Independence Park we will go to the province of San Cristóbal, where we will take you on an adventure in the Las Cuevas del Pomier National Park, in the San Cristóbal province. For more than an hour you will immerse yourself in the most important cave system in the Antilles in terms of rock art. Our local guides will take you to know mythologies and legends corresponding to the different Taino deities, in addition to taking a trail in the tropical forest,
At the end of this tour, the community members will have prepared some samples of their traditional Taino cuisine (chola, or casabe). - Ingenio Boca de Nigua - The second stop will be at the Boca de Nigua and Diego Caballero mills, declared a world heritage site for preserving the first colonial sugar mills in America, where you will see the ruins of these mills. Our local guides will give you information about the forced labor to which people from Africa were subjected, their actions of resistance and cultural elements that are preserved in Dominicans to this day.
The Nigua community will prepare a delicious typical lunch for us, ensuring ingredients from the Afro-descendant population present in the province.
- Columbus Lighthouse (Faro A Colon) - We will leave San Cristóbal and return to Santo Domingo. The third stop will be to visit the Columbus Lighthouse Museum, where the remains of Christopher Columbus are kept. There you will learn a little about those first contacts of Europeans with what they knew as the new world.
- La Atarazana - The tour ends in the Plaza de la Hispanidad, in front of the Alcázar de Colon Museum, from there you can explore the unique Colonial City, the first in America, at your leisure.
