A 10/10 experience - This was a great experience. The tour guide was really great and overfed me while I also learned about the history of the country.

Great individual food tour - We spontaneously decided to go on a food tour in Santo Domingo. Francis did a great job and gave us exciting and delicious insights into the life and cuisine of the locals. He catered to our individual wishes. For example, we were allowed to decide at each "station" whether we wanted something more. We felt completely at ease. I can only recommend the tour to everyone.

Needed this! - What a tour! It was awesome. I love traveling that allows me to see more local culture and less American-centered culture. I don’t love tours that cater to American tastes. This wasn’t that! We tried a nice handful of little bites from “in the cut” places that we hadn’t tried before. We visited Chinatown, Little Haiti, zona colonial, and outside the city. I would’ve loved if the tour was a little longer actually! Woulda loved to try a few more things. But overall it was a good time. Even though he clarified that it’s not a history tour, he gave us great history facts. We had done a history tour already so his little tidbits were perfect fillers to what we had already learned. We were with Francis and he was just super nice and was able to answer all our questions. Would recommend!

Went places we wouldn't have gone on our own. - Our guide took us many places we wouldn't have gone on our own, and the food was wonderful. Little light on the history but all in all a very nice tour.

You'll see more than inside the walls of Zonal Colonial - Francis was a brilliant host and guide. It ended up being just me on the tour but I still had a great time. Got to eat local foods including breakfast and pastelitos, eat amazing fresh mangoes, traditional sweets and saw some great sites! I'd recommend it to anyone! One piece of advice for anyone, don't eat much before you go 😅

Great exploration of food, culture and history - The tour was great! Got to have small bites of many local food - pastelitos, mangu (Dominican mashed plantain), pera piña (juice of rice and pineapple), Jalao , mama juanca, and also local presidente beer. We walked around a bit outside of zona colonial, explored market and tasted mango, sour cherries and stinking toe fruit. The guide Francis also gave me about the history of Dominican Republic along the walk. I enjoyed a lot. Highly recommended !

OK tour, but arrangements and notifications were substandard - We enjoyed the tour when it finally happened, in part because both we and the other couple on the tour really hit it off. But our tour was first postponed 90 minutes (with less than one hour notice) and then the guide was another 25 minutes late arriving and we got no further alert about that. We understand about traffic issues, but that's not unusual in Santo Domingo, so the guides and the tour company need to be prepared to handle it better. The other couple on our tour couldn't complete the whole tour because of the delay and other plans they had for the afternoon. Also, as soon as the initial delay happened, the participants should have been offered the opportunity for a refund.

Third visit to Santo Domingo - We're a group of medical professionals who travel to the DR annually to do humanitarian work. If you have spent any time traveling in the DR (outside of a beach resort) will likely have experienced all of the foods in the tour. Rice, fried chicken, beans, macaroni salad, and bottled water. Presidente beer is ubiquitous, as are the mangoes we had at the fruit stand. Our guide was very pleasant and friendly but at $60 per person we felt it was overpriced for a 3 hour walking tour. We have had better tours (on bicycles, without food) in colonial area for half the price.
