Insights are forever. - If you care about walking in the real neighborhoods of DR, without being afraid, accidental offending the people who live here, take this tour. More than anything else, the conversation with Mike was the highlight of the tour for me

An unforgetable and authentic experience! - I received an excellent insight into the traditional way of life for many people living in some tough conditions in some of the neighbourhoods of Santo Domingo. Both Juan Garcia and Mikey talked passionately about their upbringings and shared many stories. I enjoyed an excellent boat ride, cable car and metro experiences through these neighbourhoods. We visited the market place, ate traditional flavoured coconut or sweet potato ice creams and captured many photographs of the locals going about their daily lives. I would highly recommend this tour as it takes you away from the places where the tourists usually venture. Ian from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The real DR - This tour was absolutely amazing, we arrived early to the pick up start & ed picked us up early so we didn't have to wait, he gave us the full experience of Santo Domingo the good and the bad , I got to see soo much it was sad to see but also a blessing to see and just made me appreciate life and what I have more. Him and his team worker were both amazing guys who made me and my sister feel super safe and guided us through the whole tour, we got to eat some delicious dominican desserts and drink my fav beer presidente , got to explore the capital and meet people that were so nice and welcoming. I loved every second of this tour it felt so real and authentic and organic. I highly recommend this tour because you will get to see so much and learn so much and really see the real DR.

A truly authentic tour of Santo Domingo - A unique tour of the authentic side of Santo Domingo. This was a really well planned out, interesting and fun tour. I saw parts of the city and met people I would not normally have done. If you want to do something different and learn about the Dominican way of life, this tour is a must. The guides were fantastic, so friendly and clearly passionate about their neighbourhood.

unforgettable adventure - This tour was seriously one of the most special and memorable moments of my Santo Domingo trip!!!! Typical colonial zone tours are great too, but this tour is the kind that lingers in one's memory. For the entire duration of the tour, I felt that I was in VERY GOOD hands because Juan and Joel are super fluent in both English and Spanish(and who knows in what else), but even more fluent(?) in the culture of the areas we were exploring. I was able to connect with the friendly locals and observe the very nostalgic and carefree scenes of the beautifully colorful neighborhoods as if I truly became part of that community for that brief moment. I have so much respect for the guides; their achievements and principles aside, their warm and genuine nature made it possible for me to trust them immediately and regard them as my friends (to say hello to when I return to Santo Domingo later)! The breathtaking views of Santo Domingo, looking out and down from the cable car where I got to hear many background stories of the city was a perfect way to wrap the tour. Thank you so much, Juan and Joel for this amazing adventure!!!

Great Vaction - Hi I’ve visited the D.R. Several times in the last 5 years. Santo Domingo is the largest city. The Capital District offers everything you could want for a single or couple. Restaurants, day time entertainment. Plenty of night life. The concrete walkway along the ocean is a great place to take a walk. Hotels are beautiful but no beach around the city. If going outside the city rent a car beaches are a small drive. Bonita Beach is ominous my favorites. Puerto Plata , Punta Cana , Sosia , these are great vacation resorts with plenty of things to do outside of your resort. Have fun be smart don’t wear jewelry outside of your resort.

Amazing experience - This tour was the real deal! Me and a couple of the guys came to Santo Domingo for my bday and we wanted to see the coty. We really enjoyed this tour because it was in the mix with the real people who hustle to survive. The authentic homemade dominican ice cream was great! I'd recommend anyone who really want to touch ground and learn the culture from those who literally are the culture.

Amazing Tour! - The Authentic Dominican Hood Tour is a 10/10 experience. It's primarily a walking tour with a bit of driving at the beginning and the cable car and metro ride at the end. Juan and Joel are both locals from the neighborhood and have a wealth of knowledge of the neighborhood's past and present. The tour was a great way to truly feel the warmth and hospitality of the Dominican people. At each stop, (tea stand, street market, empanada stand etc.) everyone was very kind and hospitable. Never felt unsafe at any point of the tour. I highly recommend.
