- Bunski Kanal Most - The Buna canals are among the most beautiful spots in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and their beauty is definitely worth experiencing in person, even though the area is not yet fully developed for tourism.
What makes the Buna canals special? This is where the Neretva River meets its left tributary, the Buna River. Interestingly, the Buna does not flow directly into the Neretva; instead, the two rivers run parallel, with only a portion of the Buna crossing travertine barriers to create stunning waterfalls before joining the Neretva and continuing towards the Adriatic Sea.
- Kravice Falls - Kravica Waterfall is a beloved Herzegovinian picnic area and summer swimming destination.
Located 3 kilometers downstream from the village of Hrašljani, between the villages of Studenci and Zvirici, the Trebizat River forms a 28-meter-high waterfall and a beautiful natural amphitheater 120 meters wide.
This natural wonder has been attracting nature enthusiasts for years, and during the summer months, tourists can enjoy swimming and other activities on the river.
- The historic urban site of Pocitelj - This unique settlement, listed as a UNESCO heritage site, has been restored to its original form through recent reconstruction efforts. First mentioned in 1444, some documents suggest it was built in the late 14th century by order of Bosnian King Tvrtko.
- River Buna Spring - The Buna River, only nine kilometers long, is renowned for its short course, exceptional beauty, and widespread popularity.
- Blagaj tekija - Blagaj Tekija is a nearly 600-year-old Dervish monastery located outside Mostar, Bosnia. Nestled at the base of a cliff next to the source of the Buna River, it features a unique and picturesque series of buildings that look even more stunning in person than in photos.
The Tekija (or Tekke) was originally founded during the height of the Ottoman Empire. Over time, rock slides and other factors necessitated extensive repairs and reconstruction. Today, thanks largely to a Turkish travel agency, the Tekke has been restored to its historical appearance.
- Mostar Old Bridge - The historic town of Mostar, spanning a deep valley of the Neretva River, developed in the 15th and 16th centuries as an Ottoman frontier town and during the Austro-Hungarian period in the 19th and 20th centuries. Mostar has long been known for its old Turkish houses and the Old Bridge, Stari Most, after which it is named. However, during the 1990s conflict, much of the historic town and the Old Bridge, designed by the renowned architect Sinan, were destroyed. The Old Bridge has since been rebuilt, and many of the buildings in the Old Town have been restored or reconstructed with the help of an international scientific committee established by UNESCO. The Old Bridge area, with its blend of pre-Ottoman, eastern Ottoman, Mediterranean, and western European architectural features, is an outstanding example of a multicultural urban settlement. The reconstructed Old Bridge and Old City of Mostar symbolize reconciliation and the coexistence of diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious communities.
- Crooked Bridge (Kriva Cuprija) - On the Radobolja River, about 150 meters upstream from its confluence with the Neretva, stands a small stone bridge with a single arch, known as the “Crooked Bridge.” The first mention of this bridge appears in Ćejvan’s trust fund from 1558, where it is explicitly stated: “And the income will be spent on the maintenance of his bridge on the Radobolja River.” Based on this statement, it can be concluded that the Crooked Bridge was built by Ćejvan (Ćehaja) shortly before 1558. Therefore, the Crooked Bridge is older than the Old Bridge, which was constructed in 1566. It is worth noting that, according to tradition, the Old Bridge was modeled after this one.
- Koski-Mehmed Pasha Mosque - Entered through a gated courtyard, this 1618 mosque (substantially rebuilt after the war) features a dome adorned with botanical motifs and colored-glass windows. Visitors can climb the narrow minaret for sweeping views of the town.
- Old Bazar Kujundziluk - Enjoy shopping in Mostar’s most unique and famous street. We will spend 30 minutes in the Old Bazaar, with the remaining time allocated for travel back to Sarajevo.
