Highlights
  • Tvrdava Stari grad - Rise and shine! It is 8:00 am and perfect time to start our journey. Our first stop is the most beautiful and best preserved fortress in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Old Forth of Travnik was constructed in 14th century during Kingdom of Bosnia, but the present appearance is the result of the Ottoman builders.
  • Travnik - If You did not have a chance to have a cup of coffee do not worry! Perfect place for traditional Bosnian coffee is “Plava Voda” (blue water springs).
  • Fortress of Jajce - Next stop is the city of Jajce. Open sky museum with waterfall in the center of the city. While you walk towards the Jajce Fortress and when you pass through the city gates you will enter in a city built for kings. Fortress of Jajce is part of the Old Town of Jajce and a marvel of Bosnian Medieval architecture
  • Catacomb of Jajce - Catacombs of Jajce is the name given by locals to underground Christian small church so it is not a “catacomb” in true sense. Church has been carved in a single rock or a cave in late Romanesque style.
  • Pliva Waterfall - What makes city of Jajce unique is that You are able to see and feel magnificent 21-meter-tall waterfall which is placed among 12 most beautiful in the world.
  • Mlincici - Watermills located on river Pliva are only 5 kilometers away from center of Jajce. Twenty watermills dating since medieval period are built between Small and Large Pliva lake. Because of fairy-tale appearance they make amazing place for photos. Amazing enough, some of them are still in use.

After the Watermills we rest next to the banks of Pliva lake, which is the best place to have a lunch and get ready to come back to Sarajevo.

Amazing sights and an amazing tour guide - This was our second tour we unintentionally booked with Dream Balkans Travel and we had Ibrahim as our tour guide again! Once again, Ibrahim took care of everyone in the group (7 of us), whether it was making sure we had enough water and food or were ok to continue going up hill in the heat or needed to take a break, he made sure we were all good. He also shared his knowledge of the cities and the history of the fortresses that we visited in Travnik and Jajce. Pliva lake was my favourite part of the tour and he gave us a lot of time there on our own to explore which again, we really appreciated. Overall, a tour with Ibrahim and Dream Balkans Travel is worth booking - their kindness and hospitality was the best we’ve experienced whilst travelling and we got to see amazing views so it’s a win-win.

Excellent excursion! Really recommend - Our excursion to Travnik and Jajce and surrounding areas was excellent! Thoroughly interesting and enjoyable due to the beautiful scenery and sites and our guide Asim. He was very professional, punctual, a safe driver and thoroughly knowledgeable of the history of all the places we went to. I’d love to use Dream Balkans again for other excursions.

Great experience - The Jajce, Travnik, Pliva Lake, & Watermills Tour was great experience, I enjoyed it entirely and I would recommend to anyone who wants to immerse himself in the beauty of the history and nature of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The tour included not so familiar (at least to foreigners) places. The views were stunning. Adnan was very friendly and easygoing, put no pressure and explained all the history details that we needed, without turning into a history lesson. He watched the group and made sure that each feller was doing well and needed anything. The trip was comfortable and although long, we were able to enjoy the countryside of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Great Guide for a Great Trip. - Great sights. Relaxed atmosphere. Informative and helpful guide. Ultimately, it was Emir, our tour guide who made the day so special. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He went out of his way to make us all feel really looked after and personally very comfortable. Bravo.

Express ancient Bosnia tour - We booked the tour a night before. Funny thing is, we weren’t sure we could make it that day - most tours start at 8 and we had a train from Mostar in the morning To start with, they took that into the account and agreed to pick us up at the train station. Our train was 15 min late xD, it was ok Experience was perfect, Ibrahim is well educated and very kind guide. We had the Bosnian lady in a group who was not into English, but he managed to switch languages nicely, so that felt fluently Recommend it!

Great Bosnian tour - We had a wonderful day in Travnik and Jajce with our amazing guide, Ibrahim. He has such a lively personality and shared many interesting historical insights with us. Also many thanks to Asim for managing to adjust the tour for our arrival from Mostar (we came later than the tour usually starts). We really enjoyed spending the day at these beautiful places!
